Max: Bush earned degrees from Harvard and Yale. Where did you attend?

I never went to university, I was homeless when I finished highschool and I had no money to do much else than work. Now I don't think that a university degree would increase my earnings potential anymore, so I'd rather not spend 3-4 years of my life that way.

Bush having degrees from Harvard and Yale doesn't say much for those universities, if a man as intelligent as him can get degrees there then it can't be that hard.

Max,

It wasn't intended to be a call out post. I apologize if it came across as such.

My point is simply that attempts to portray this man as some kind of dimwit are just the typical hyperbole and unsubstantiated personal attacks one would expect from the other side.

Everyone who disagrees with us is stupid:)

Bush is a very intelligent man with sharp instincts. He is not an accomplished orator, and not quick on his feet. Neither is really a measure of intelligence, although they both can be used to make one appear smarter or dumber than they appear.

Added to this is that politicians cannot just speak the first thing that comes to mind. Many appear hesitant precisely because they are required to measure responses against possible outcomes, such as how it will be perceived by others. This is far more true of President. Look what Volker did to the markets by speaking out of turn:)

No.....Max is right.

Anybody who can get into Harvard and Yale can graduate if they have a strong enough name.

I have never seen one example of Bush being highly intelligent. Not one.

Just the ole "well he graduated from Harvard and Yale." Those universities should hang their heads in shame.

Well reasoned and substantiated post test boy

For a second I feared I'd be wasting my time reading another hyperbolic self serving charge.

I eagerly anticipate your next measured post pointing out my naivete in not comprehending and accepting your charges at face value

Both colleges highly value their educational standards, they are what seperate them and make them "ivy league"...allowing people in with less intelligence than required would hurt their very important status as elite. Does having a name help? Definetly, though it is not the end all...

Bush scored in the bottom 25% when taking the entrance exams for Air National Guard.

Seems the Guard is an intellectual juggernaut compared to harvard et al?

i dont know what to make of his university degrees. I have a handful of friends a couple ex gfs in ivey league schools down in the US, and the difference in their presentation and eloquence and that of Bush's (from what the media has shown me) is just so many levels apart. Everyone slips up once in a while, but the natural intelligence you need to make it into schools like Harvard and Yale usually dictates people who make very few simple spoken errors due to actually understanding what it is they're talking about

its a tough call, but hey, crazier things have happened.
