Wanna Know what your paying Shrubs White House Staff?

I hate Bush and his cronies..

But I dont think those salaries are out of line.. there are MANY people on that list making less than 100k per year.

Many of those near the top of the list are taking a pay cut to work in the White House compared to what they could be making.

Most of them will leave those jobs when Bush leaves office (in 2008). The ones who are good will go back to making bigger bucks. The ones who are not very good will crawl back into obscurity.

Glad to see you note that kerry is going to be Inaugurated in January. :) LOL!!!

I am surprised, really. The top advisors/assistants only make 157k? That doesn't sound like pork barrelling to me. I think we have a lot of higher paid senior public servants here in Australia, even at state level.

For 157k I don't think the Whitehouse would be getting the most competent staff through financial incentives, I bet all of these people will be making a lot more money once they leave their jobs and work in the private sector.

Funny thing about that list is that James Baker is at the bottom on $0. Yeah right, former sec. state will work for free. BS.

Believe it or not, some of these guys are really public servants. They took a pay cut from their lucrative careers for a once in a lifetime opportunity to work in a Presidential Administration. They'll get back to their fortunes in 08.

As far as Baker, I certainly believe it. He is practically a member of the Bush family and will do anything to assist, besides he is independently wealthy many times over, and of course all of his expenses were paid when he oversaw the Florida 2000 debacle and toured Europe to obtain debt relief for Iraq.

Wodin, this thread has kind of backfired for you, hasn't it? :)

I just read through a little of that list.

I couldn't believe it included Condi Rice at 157k, now that has to be a joke. Spoonfeeding and intelligence nursing the most powerful man in the world so he doesn't fuck up as often as he does has got to be worth more than that. I bet she gets tired of talking slowly and explaining every damn thing 5 times in the most simplistic terms possible and having Bush still not getting it.

General point.

Many of these people are top quality individuals who could earn substantially more in the public sector. The job is also all consuming, you do little else for the time you serve the President. On the plus side for them is that a stint in the White House increases future earnings potential.

Max: Bush earned degrees from Harvard and Yale. Where did you attend?

What, didn't Micheal Moore tell you? Bush swindeled his way through college...hell, I hear he didn't even graduate high school

Doesn't every President have a supporting staff like this? I don't see why you are singling out Bush. WODIN, you are going to get an ulcer because of your obsession with Bush.
