Versaclimber! Who Uses The Evil Torture Device

Hmm, yeah, I was thinking of the treadclimber.

No, I'm afraid I won't watch rocky IV, but I will check my gym for it.

Eternal LADDER or eternal STAIRCASE - cause I think they have the eternal staircase one.

Watch Rocky IV. It is the piece of equipment Drago is using that looks like he is climbing an eternal ladder.

And for anyone who doubts that this piece of equipment will do the job or get your HR up, think again. I sell fitness equipment of all kinds and of everything out there, this piece is the calorie burner of death!!!!

How much would one of those go for? Think it would fit in a apartment? :)

There is a residential model that will fit in most places but it's a bit rickety. The commercial model is the only one worth a damn but you need 9 1/2' ceilings. It goes for right around $3000 not including shipping.

I bought my Versaclimber 17 years ago when I lived in an apartment. I have moved it all over the country with me and had it in apartments, townhouses and houses. It is an amazing workout! You have to start off slowly, about 5 minutes/day and work yourself up to 30 minutes or so/day. Your HR will be up, you will be sweating, your muscles will be sore, but you will feel GREAT! I have it set up in my family room so I can watch TV while working out. Another cool thing is that it keeps track of your time, how many steps you've taken and how many feet you've climbed.

When I bought mine the Versaclimber was just making its debut in high end gyms. Other than that it was only used by professional athletes. There is a NBA version that is very tall. Mine is the regular height. I paid $1800 17 years ago, I've heard it is between $2000 and $3000 today. Good luck! This is a purchase you will never regret.

I just bought a used VersaClimber CL-108HP (the consumer version with a heart monitor) for $1000. The unit was in excellent condition except for needing a bit of cleaning.

When people say that this unit is BRUTAL, they aren't kidding. The uninitiated get wiped out after about 20 second on this thing, and that's not an exaggeration. The trick is to take SMALL strides to start with. Using one of the program levels in the onboard computer will help you stay within your limits.

The machine is quiet, efficient, and at 4'x3'x7'6", will fit in most apartments. If you haven't been on a VersaClimber, I recommend you at least try one out. You'll be impressed. I've not been on any other piece of equipment that gets my heart rate up as fast as this thing.

Cheers!

ohhh that's what that is. We have two of them at one of my gyms - they're in the crossfit room. I haven't tried it. Looks fun.
