triceps extension

As part of my triceps routine I like to do overhead tris extension wiht a straight barbell.

As I laid down on the bench , what should the distance between my hands be?
How far apart?

I usually do them shoulder width...
 
these are what i use for tri building. i love lying extensions

i do them a little less than shoulder width apart, and for me, that's with my index fingers on the beginning of the knurling
 
I use an EZ curl bar with a narrow grip
 
Are you talking skull-crushers/nose-breakers? I use the ez-bar and a narrow grip...right on the edge of the straight section in the middle...about 6 inches I guess. Probably a good idea to vary it as long as it doesn't hurt your wrists/shoulders/elbows. Be sure to keep those elbows in though!

yeah, it depends if it's an extension, a scullcrusher, or a variation
 
I use the EZ curl bar with a narrow grip for skull crushers as well as for overhead extensions
 
oops. i forgot to mention that i use a straight olympic bar on extensions and i try to get an EZ curl bar for skulls
