Well, yesterday, doing an exercise for shoulders (M.Hang Cleans) and when I was home last night, I couldn't pick up a gallon of milk out of the fridge with my left hand.
So today, I went out and got me one of those wrist wrap thingies... that is like a wrist brace. And I got me one of those wrist thingies that helps you hold the weight.
Well, my back workout went along ok, my wrist wraps made it possible, as I couldn't have gripped the weight with my left hand without them.
Now, when I got to Biceps, it was s different story. I started off trying to curl the 35's, for warm up... the pain I went through on the first set was the equivelant of putting my arm in a vice and crushing it, then pouring gasoline and lighting it on fire... then dipping it in molten lava.
I sat back for a few seconds and thought about it... I was thinking... hey, I can just go home, let this baby heal... come back next week and try biceps...
As I was thinking that, I was already walking over to the rack to pick up the 45's... I figured, hey, maybe the heavier weight will make it easier. I did them this time... 12 reps each... pain induced sweat and my reflection in the mirror was grimmicing and looked like it was grunting each time I curled my left side.
Well, mine as well move on the the 50's and 60's... the wrist wraps helped, I think... either that or all the blood from my wrists was pounding in my head and eyeballs as I was curling... I think at several points during the sets, I phased out into a zone of half-horrible pain in my wrist and half "HELL YEAH I'M KICKING THIS THINGS ASS!!!"
Well, leaving your guts on the floor IS what is all about.
My wrist hurt like a bitch as I left the gym... but now feels... somewhat in relief.. less pain... and more maneuerable... I've read somewhere that if you work these sort of injuries, along with icing and the correct anti-inflamatories, it will aid in the recovery.
Well... that's my guts story for the day... not as vivid as the rest, but just as painful
