I have short muscle bellies, so if I wear a short sleeve shirt or shorts I look okay, but if I pull them up a little you see a lot more beef.

I've read a lil about it but what I'm wondering if there is/are any training theories about it.
(I'm not talking about trying to lengthen them, just if there is a way to make them grow more effectively)

muscle shap, length and insertion points are all genetice. You cant work a mucle to make it look a certian way, all you can do is cause it to grow and let genetics take over. Im sure some people will argue this but the fact is a muscle contract or relaxes and is attached at either end by a tendon where all the contractile force is applied to the bone for motion. You cant work just part of a muscle for its shape, it all or nothing. It does get somehwat confusing though because muscles often overlap others etc so in the case of the bices there are actually a couple muscles and depending on which gets the most stress will have some bearing on how the arm appears. It sounds like your bicep itself may have good size but the underlying brachias(I may have name botched here so excuse me if I do) my need development which can be done with things like EZ bar curls, hammer curls etc.

hehe, damn I just reread my post, who the hell tought me how to spell?? See what happens when I post before my morning coffee, hope it was decipherable :)

I've done that research and agree 100%.

I guess what I'm more curious about is if there is any thing else that distinguishes muscles and therefore might alter my training approach. Like are there differences in the red vs. white count?

Also, would anyone know what I can do to work the almond shaped quadriceps muscle? I started doing leg press with my feet close together and I think it does focus a lil more – ideas?
