I just sent my oldest daughter to kindergarten. I am a nervous wreck! I am worried about the most ridiculous things, is she going to get off the bus ok, will she get lost, is she going to get on the wrong bus to get home. god I am so pathetic! my youngest daughter (who is 3 1/2) is lost here without her big sis. she was so upset that she had nobody to play barbies with! well at least I didn't cry at the bus stop like some of the other moms. I just went home and paced all over the kitchen!

My boy turns 3 this month, I don't know what I am going to do when he starts real school, I just don't know.

:) She will love kindergarden. My oldest is 7 now, but loved the big school, eating in the cafeteria, and carrying her own tray :) Plus the PLAYGROUND :) I am sure yours will love it.

My son is in his last year of preschool, and so that leaves my 2 1/2 at home alone. Gives you some quality time with the baby.....unfortunetly she and I are about ready to run to the stinkin gym :)

Normal feelings you are having though......hard to let them go--but kindergarden is sooo much fun ;)

I'm usually very good. I am not the over protective parent and I know my children have to grow up but I have never actually left her anywhere alone. she went to pre school last year but I dropped her off and picked her up so I knew that she was safe. But this is so different. she leaves all by herself and I have to rely on the school bus driver to get her home safe, and she has to get to the bus without getting lost, I know they have teachers helping them the first week of school but what happens if after that she can't find her bus?!?! AHHHH I am becoming my mom! lol
my daughter never even looked back she got on the bus and sat in a seat and off she went. no tears nothing,I was proud of my brave girl!

you should have seen me the first day i left my kittens alone to go to work... i came home 2 times during the day (its about a 20 min commute each way)...

I'm afraid to see what i'd do with real live lil people of my own :)

Thats how I felt about our hamsters Phem---the first time I left them alone in the house......cause of the cat :) Luckily, the puss doesnt bug them......they seem to have a good relationship now :D

Blueyedkowgrl: I drop and pick mine up ; we live close to the school. But I know at our elem. school here, the kindergarden teachers always take their little ones to the bus at the end of the day. But, when they drop them off in the morning, its like a cattle call :) But if you showed her before school started, where her class is, then she should have a good sense of where she is to go :) Plus the teachers are all over the halls, and teacher aides, so someone will steer her in the right direction. She is a brave girl, and going to love her new adventure ---truly .

she was so upset that she had nobody to play barbies with!

Time to break out the barbies! Is there a Ms. Olympia Barbie? None of this Gym Bunny Barbie crap with the matching pink headband and leg warmers.

LOL -- Just thought about this -- I have two younger brothers - when I was growing up my barbies had to be rugged because they had to keep up with GI Joe! (This was before we knew about sex and that stuff, besides, GI Joe isn't anatomically correct....) My barbies wore cammies and took out the enemy with anti-aircraft weaponry!

i thought about driving her to school but my husband said "are you going to drive her to school for the rest of her life? if not let her get used to it now." I know he's right but geeze, i gave birth to this kid i need to know she's safe. it's my mommies right to worry!
She wants to spend time at the park later after school so of course i said ok. (we have a beautiful park over here that is in memory of TWA flight 800. i live by where it exploded and the town over here made a beautiful memorial. the kids love going there.)
2 more hours and she'll be home. thank god i don't know if i can wait any longer. my stomach is doing flip flops.
