To workout the neck or not to?

Should I workout the neck directly or not? I used to work it out with a neck harness (4 sets a week). But now im worried that it will get too big, and push fat forward and make me look like I have a gobbler. Is that true or did I jsut gain a littlefat/im paranoid. (ive been using YES on it all the time recently to try and remove it.)
 
Ive never worked out my neck and its big enough. My gf always tells me that i have no neck. Its a waste of time IMO especially if your working out your traps like you should be anyways
 
Yeah, I see neck exercises as more of a sports dependant exercise (or neck injury recovery). Just for bodybuilding, I wouldn't waste my calories on it, I'd focus that energy elsewhere. Just my $.02
 
Only for sports. I was a lineman and I had one injury before I started training my neck and none after. Other then that I dont see a reason. It will grow with the rest of your body.
 
When I work out my neck in any way on a cycle it gets way too big. The problem from an aesthetic standpoint is it visually lessens the shoulder and chest gains. It became such a problem on a test/eq/dbol cycle that I had to eliminate most trap work too since this indirectly builds neck mass.
