To Become a PRO BODYBUILDER?????????????????

The pro's use ungodly amounts of gear to achieve what they have, Ive had honest conversations with a few and they use more to bridge with then I use for a heavy cycle. But that being said, so do tons of other people that never look anything like a pro, the difference there is genetics and the drive to get there. Most people could inject 5x a day and never look like Coleman, so dont ever kid yourself into thinking that doing juice means anything if you dont have the genetics

lee priest filed for bankruptcy recently, had to move from beverly hills to lancaster california. talk about a difference. he was probably living alright. :p just a little too fast.

Hope we continue to keep the flames down to a minimum on here...

For those who really want to be a Pro..the sacrifice isn't perceived to be that large. For those who don't REALLY want to be a pro...the sacrifice is way too much.

I am tired of hearing this nonsense about genetics and so on. Everyone who has given wannabepowerful advice to the effect that steroids is not the most imprtant factor is being plain irresponsible.

Have a look at any of the before shots of many of the top pro's, Lee Priest included, and most of you will realise that this nonsense of genetics being the key factor is a load of crap.

Wannabe, get one thing straight, you have to be prepared to take enormous amounts of GH, steroids etc etc to make it as a pro. I don't know what your genetics are like, and quite frankly i don't care, because it won't change the fact you will still need to do large amounts of drugs.

That is the first question you need to ask yourself, are you prepared to do that and to suffer any possible side effects because of it, be they financial, emotional or health.

I think you've misunderstood what a lot of us have tried to say. Obviously steroids are a given, you cannot achieve pro bodybuilder proportions without using sick amounts of them. But even then, that doesn't mean that you will look like Coleman if you take as many drugs as he does. Genetics, in the way of your muscle shape, insertions, joint size, and the overall amount of size that your frame will hold, that is where genetics are key. A thousand people could follow the exact same drug cycles as Coleman, but they'd be lucky if one out of that thousand could look anything close to him. If not, anyone willing to do the drugs could be a pro, and thats just not true!

brooklynboy how do you come up with such crap as spending 30 grand on growth you must be out of your mind to. [/B][/QUOTE]

I am sorry about the spelling but I have a cast on my hand so it is not that easy to type. I have never touched GH nor did I say I have. You do need to open up your mind and leave the Wieder world and come in to the real world. Your handle fits you perfectly one mind. Hey just out of curiousty what are your stats onemind? If you are curious about mine I am 6'3'' 235lbs and 8% BF and I am a degred engineer and make a nice living with my job. I think the pros are to far gone they need to come bsack to reallty I am tiered of seing Gh bellies. I hope Flex Wheeler does wel in his come back.

found this interesting....http://members.aol.com/usamuscle/bodybuildingsucks1.html

Oh my! He said what?!? Yes, your heard correctly. Bodybuilding sucks! I guess I should explain myself now.

It was only a few years ago that I got interested in Bodybuilding. Man, I was so excited! I went out and bought my first Bodybuilding magazine and read how I could slap Inches of muscle on my Chest in just 8 weeks, as well as gain 60lbs on my Bench press in a month! I looked at these at these steroid bloated monsters, and thought to myself "Wow I can't wait to look like him!". Little did I know about the secrets of Pro Bodybuilders hugeness!

Following the advice of some Gurus from FLEX, I started my "training". I tried it all, The "Weider System, " and a few of those other bozo gimics. I followed Mr Olympia's "Routine for Super Size!" faithfully, training at least 5 days a week, sometimes more, doing 6 sets of 15,12,10,8,6,and 4 reps of Flyes and Kickbacks, and Concentration curls, etc.

I was amazed by the Scientific graphs and charts showing how Joe Lifter added 20lbs of muscle in a week using an amazing "Breakthrough Supplement". I headed to my local GNC and got me a nice tub of Creatine, believing that in a week, my bench would skyrocket from 150 to 200.

Sadly I continued on this path until I was set straight by people who have learned the hard way themselves. They opened my eyes to the Corruption, greed, and mindless stupidity that is know as "Bodybuilding". Here are a few things I've learned:

1. WHY PRO BODYBUILDING IS A JOKE!

Yes, Yes, I admit that I had my dreams of being on the Mr. O stage someday. I thought that hard work and dedication is all that was needed to achieve a word class physique. It wasn't for some time that I came to see that FLEX wasn't telling the whole truth about the Pro's. In fact, of all the worthless magazines out there I think FLEX is the one who COMPLETELY ignores the fact that 99.9% of all Professional Bodybuilders spend tens of thousands of dollars a year to support an insane steroid habit.

Pro Bodybuilders are fakes. Sure when you are as juiced as Dorian was you can walk around the block and grow muscle! Not to mention they are genetically superior when it comes to muscle growth. half of these guys were 200lbs with 17 inch arms before they even touched a barbell! Only 1 in 1000 people has the genetics to build that type of muscle.

When you hear the word "Bodybulding," wouldn't you think that it would be a Healthy sport? No my friend. You go to see a Pro BB show and the healthiest people there are the audience members! Bodybuilding is no longer about who can build the best looking, strongest, muscular body, but about who can stick the most needles in his butt and live to show it. Pro Bodybuilders are some of the most unhealthy people on the planet.

If you ever get the chance to meet some of the "Pros" here are a few things to look for. Note the bloated, puffy looking that so many of them possess. Extremely notable in offseason Bodybuilders. One specific comes to mind: Lee Priest. I saw him last Spring in offseasin condition. Good lord! He looked like the Pilsbury Doughboy, with his pudgy gut, and incredibly round head. Note that these guys have an Acne problem worse than most teenagers. Also look for giant boils and sores from where their injection sites got infected. Nasser El Sonbaty had a huge, disgusting abscess on his bicep. Maybe you've noticed that many Bodybuilders are losing their hair? Hmmm. Gimme a break! Is it really worth sacrificing your health and taking years off you life and dying when you are 45 just so you can be "HYOOOJ" for a little while

Aside from being a walking Chemistry experiment gone wrong, most of the Pro's I've met were absloute jerks, and had the personality of a tree frog! I hate to think any young lifter would look up to these men. They are certainly not people to look up to.

Acceptable role models might be guys like Steeve Reeves, Reg Park, and other lifters from years past. They all had Physiques that are actually attainable through Hard work, and dedication. Unlike Mr Universe, who you will never look like, no matter how hard you train or how dedicated you are. More than likely, you won't get like that even WITH steroids! Even classic 70's Bodybuilders are better role models than todays guys. Ahhhnold, Franco Coumbo, Dave Draper. Sure these guys used steroids too, but not like your El Sonbaty's, Kovacs', Yates', and the others. At least Arnold had personality!

There you have it. Just a FEW of the reasons why Bodybuilding sucks (I can give more). In my opinion it is just a giant scam, all designed to get YOUR money! I'll go into that more a bit later.

That article caused something to click inside me, thanks for that,
I was losing the plot for a while.

Just thinking aloud :)
