time for a change again....

alright , can ya'all people give me some advice on this new split i'm thinking of....
it used to be like this:
chest/bis
back/tris
shoulders/legs abs+forearms when deemed necessary
rest
repeat

now i want to have a separate chest day, seperate back day and seperate arms day.

i was thinking somewhere along the lines of this...
chest
back
rest
bis+tris
shoulders
rest
legs
REPEAT

how does this look? also, aren't my workouts going to be too short this way? i do 9 sets for each muscle group, think i should up the volume or...? any other feedback?

Seems like too many training days. Here might be a possibility:

Day 1 - REST
Day 2 - Upper Legs, Calves, and Abs
Day 3 - Delts and Biceps
Day 4 - REST
Day 5 - Chest and Triceps
Day 6 - Back and Calves
Day 7 - REST

Looks good, that is actually a very popular split. Although I'd change the order just a bit.

1 - Chest
2 - Back
3 - Rest
4 - Shoulders
5 - Arms
6 - Rest
7 - Legs

As far as overtraining in concerned, I’d just make sure you are familiar with the overtraining symptoms and if any arise then throw in an extra days rest.

I would prefer this: (keep in mind it will be mostly trail and error)

Dan 1- shoulders and biceps
Day 2- rest
Day3- legs and triceps
Day4- rest
Day5-chest and back
Day6-rest
Day7-rest

thnx people, i'm gonna try ingram's idea first since i want to try chest, back and arms on seperate days for a change. i'll see how it goes, trial and error indeed!

I like Ingram's because he put arms after shoulders instead of before. If you hit tris hard one day, then try to military serious weight the next, you'll be hating life.

btw SAGAT, I noticed yesterday that I had a pm from you from a long time ago, I'll get back to you. I apologize:freak:

yeah you think i should try ingram's idea as well? alright i'm gonna do that for sure then. no need to apologize about the PM man, i forgot about it myself too. hehe:D

louden, appreciate the advice man. but over the past six years of training, i've learned that 3-4 times a week simply isn't enough for me; i don't go all out each workout, and i seem to recover pretty fast. i lowered my volume once and i was actually starting to lose inches everywhere where i didn't WANT to lose them. so that's why i'm trying this approach now.
