"Thuggie's" first ever journal

Hello

I'm very new, and have learnt (and am still learning) may things off this board. Sassy kindly gave me advice and one of the key issues is to keep a food journal. I'm doing fitday, but I think that by posting a journal I'll feel more accountable for what I eat, every little bit helps :)

Stats
5'6
145 pounds
18 body fat (not sure about that as I believe calipers are not too acurate)

My goals:
I am on my first cycle of anavar, (10mg morning, 5mg nite) and in my third week. I want to put on some good muscle mass, in my bum, lats and calves a lot as well as everywhere else, and then cut off my fat. So my plan is to eat clean with protien 1.5x and about 2000 calories, for the next 6 weeks, and then after that do cutting with carb cycling and cardio for the following 6 weeks.

Breakfast
1 scoop whey protien
1/4 blueberries
3/4 oats

Will be:
Meal two
3oz chicken and salad

Meal three
Can of tuna and salad

Meal Four
3oz chicken and salad

Meal five
5 egg whites
1/2 cottage cheese
1/2 oats

Today is my off day so I will just train my horse today.
I will try to work out how to posts pics and have some up today (i also have to work up the courage)

Lookin' great, girl!!!! Just curious, who suggested the high dosage of Anavar. 10 mg is usually PLENTY for women to make VERY NICE gains. If you could just do 10 - you would save some money too.

What are your goals? Contests - BB, figure, or fitness build?

I just picked the dose from reading on the internet. I don't have a trainer, infact i'm fairly new to the USA and body building. I started off at 5 and 5 and did not get any sides but didn't really notice any difference, so i thought I'd try 15mg, and still no sides but I did two sets of 200pound squats last nite, and that was my personal best. But perhaps I should have waited longer? I'm not sure, thats one of the reason I have started this journal as everyone out there seems very knowledgable so I'm open to suggestions.
I have not thought about competing, I'm not sure if I can get lean enough, I'll have to see when I start cutting later. I'm not sure if i'm brave enough either. I already compete in showjumping which is also very time consuming and expensive!

Hi there, this thing is addictive, I'm on the board instead of work, and i'm finding out that I need to buy all sorts of things like Cardio breeze, YES, seapure etc etc :) any excuse to spend money and not work.
 
Tell me about it... I joined bout 2 months ago and it definately helps the time flyyyyyyyyyyyy by at work (except for those rare occasions where I do work a few minutes) :laugh2:

Oh welcome to my world - addictive is the word. Great lats you have there and you have come to the right place to dial in your diet and training. Welcome to EF :) :rose:
 
Not so good today, in-fact yesterday I did not eat so well, I also had beef jerky and then cottage cheese and peanut butter before bed. And then last nite I could not sleep at all, I had maybe 4 hours sleep and I got up and ate more cottage cheese. But today is a new day, and from next week Monday I’m going to take all my food pre-made to the office for the day, so I don’t have to order salads ect.

I do want to put on muscle mass and do understand that I have to eat more clean food to do this and that the scale is going to go up, but after spending the last year losing 25 pounds, this is psychologically very hard for me. In three weeks I have put on 6 pounds, I just hope it is muscle! I should go and buy calipers so that I can test myself instead of having to ask someone at the gym to do it. I want to stick at bulking for at least another four weeks, I have a very flat bum (well better than it was) and I really want to build it up. So anyway diet so far

Meal one (7.00am)
Âľ Oats
1.5 Protein shake
ÂĽ cup blueberries
ÂĽ cup soy milk
2 L water

Meal two(12.00)
Ordered a chicken cobb salad no dressing

I’m working out this evening, and will properly do some cardio after weights.

Holy protein, and before bed. that isn't too bad, all healthy foods, I LOVE BEEF JERKY it is good in moderation and when your on the run. I am supposed to have a protein shake before I go to bed on the days I work out, don't beat yourself up and good job premaking your food!

Not so brilliant but by monday I will have it down.

Training

Lunges5x6 Pyramid from 95 pounds to 150 pounds
Dumbell bench press 5x6 45 pounds
Romainains 5x6 Pryaming from 95 pounds to 150 pounds
Seated cable 5x6 80 -110 pounds
Hammer curls 5x6 25 pounds
tricep extentions 5x6 50 pounds

I think cause I was suffering from huge lack of sleep and bad eating I was much weaker than usual and battled to get thro.

But today is a new day, and I feel refreashed so i'm off to HIIT train and then train my horse.

Meal one
3/4 oatmeal
blueberries
protein shake
soy milk (for tea)
 
I've been really useless at journalling!!! but i have been good about training and dieting! I have been pre packing all my meals and basically sticking to it 99% I have dropped 4 pounds in a week, but I know a lot of it must be water, however it is a positive incentive to stay on the right track.

Basically all my meals are as follows

Meal one
Protein shake with 1/4 blueberries and H20
3/4 cup oatmeal

Meal two
1 can tuna
big bowl mixed salad (lettuce,tom,cucumber,onion,mushrooms,snap peas)

Meal 3
3 oz chicken
big bowl mixed salad

Meal 4 same as 3

Meal 5 Protein shake with h20

Workout

Meal 6
rice cakes
Omellette

I have a bit of Soy milk in tea a couple of times a day too. And occassionally Natural PB before bed.

And I drink 4-6 litres a day.

I ordered T-Rex and YES and I get them tomorrow so i'm looking forward to that. I will try and be better at journalling, but I'm sharing my office as work for a few days so that means I sort of have to actually work! Poo bum :(

I hope to pop in at everyone soon, xxx

Congrats on the 4 lbs! Doesn't matter if it's water or not -the point is that you stuck to the plan and lost 4 lbs. :jump:
 
So i'm going to make a better effort at this journaling thing. Today i was perhaps not so good, but no too bad

protein bar and beef jerky(bad, bad bad)
My excuse was that I had a brilliant lesson, jumped a complicated 4 foot grid which my horse Fabio did really well, and ended up chatting to my trainer for ever, so I only got home at 10.30 and had to stop by the store so i cheated a bit, oh dear.

I would love to do cardio daily, but with full time studying and full time work, and training for my summer show season (horse show jumping) i only make it to the gym every other day, so i lift then do 30 min cardio apart from weekends then I also do a HIIT (which i love), anyway my question is, what kind of cardio does my riding count as? this is not trail riding this is showjumping or fairly involved flatwork, at least 40 min? If anyone knows it will be greatly appreciated.

Feeling guilty this morning, I just could not wake up and get my bottom out of bed, I seem to be ok on 6 hours for about 4 days and then I always seem to crash for one nite. So my boys (my horses) got the morning off, I was supposed to ride them and then go to a Dr check up appoint, which I have sucessfully put off for 5 years, but I guess thats a bit silly so I have to go and I'm dreading it.

Well this morning I have had my ususal
3/4 oatmeal
protein shake with blueberries
and now i'm going to have a cup of PG tips!
I found them yesterday in the Jewel, it was big store and they had this whole international foods section, and I found a whole UK section with jaffa cakes, marmite, ribena etc etc, and I got all homesick and had to makesure that I didn't buy a packet of yummy hobnobs to feel better, so I just got my tea.

Training tonight, hopefully I can get to the gym before 10.00pm as I have an early am start.

Will post later tonight my daily foods.

Just got back from my workout, and it was a great one. I used the YES and T-Rex and I had loads of energy, especially after I've had a looonng day. Just hope I can sleep ok tonight.

I did not follow my standard workout, I changed it up a bit as i'm getting a bit bored of it and my training partner (finance) isn't here. So here goes:

15x 105 romainains
15 x 105

40poundsx10 dumbell bench press, 5 sets

step ups
2x 60 pounds 15 each leg
2x 50 pounds 15 each leg
with 30 sec breaks inbetween sets

Underhand barbell rows
50 pounds x10 four sets with calves inbetween, some heavy weight that some lazy git had not moved from the leg press

85 pounds x10 wide lat pull downs 4 sets

30 min on the eliptical

Food

meal 2
5oz chicken with chopped salad

Meal 3
cheese and ham with chopped salad

Meal 4
8oz cottage cheese

Meal 5
Protein drink

Workout

Meal six
1/2 protein

My dr visit was not too bad, it was a lovely lady, she did say i have a few stress isssues, and she took my blood to check my liver, I will get results on Fri. My first liver test after almost one year of soberity and drug free, so holding thumbs. It really made me think about how far i've come in a year, and i got a bit proud of myself for a wee while, but pride before a fall, just so happy to be clean and found a new obessions with health instead.

Oh dear, i've been so busy rambling I burn my pancake, but no worres i'm starving anyway so it will be fab.

CONGRADULATION! that is awesome! Take the stress out at the gym! I hope the test results come back ok!

Morning, and not much sleep, I proberly only fell asleep at about 2.00am which is such a pity as I really love training on some kind of a buzz, the T-rex was great, I also enjoy ECA, but they all seem to stay in my system too long. Can anyone recomend something that will let me fall asleep at about midnite after training from 8.30/9.00 till about 10.30?

Off to see a hot shot immigration lawyer, hopefully he will have a plan

Beef jerky (also bad)

Rode Fabio for 40 Min, worked on our lead changes, I felt my glutes burn, I'm try YES with horse riding too, Fabio tried to bite my bum, cause he luuuuuuuuves peppermints.

Meal five
chopped ham and low fat hard cheese with a big chopped salad

Tea and bed, getting a new Temperpedic king tomorrow, I'm really hoping this will help my insomnia problem, I might get a space to sleep between my dog and my finance if i'm lucky.

I had a great day, my diet didnt' tho :)

I almost ate the haggendaz in the freezer but I solved the problem by feeding it to two very happy doggies instead.

But I better go to bed soon to say out of trouble.

Its pretty cool when you step back from the daily details of all the time in the gym, the unsexy burning of the pancakes, etc and look at what has been accomplished w/ each day's little victories.

Congrats and of all the things to be obsessed w/, health & fitness are not too bad. :)

I didn't write yesterday up cause i was a lot bad, I suppose I have to write it up in shame.

Meal one

Started well, as they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions

Meal two
Cottage cheese
2 rice cakes

Meal three
Cup of Pretzels

Meal four
Salad with chicken and some low fat dressing

Meal Five
Another cup of pretzels and a twizler and a coffee dunking almond thingy
They are in the office :( no excuse thought they are always there

Meal six
A luna bar
Cappacino with skim milk

Meal seven
2 slices of wholewheat bread
At least 2 Tbsp of N PB

And NO training.

So i'm very well carb loaded for this morning workout, so to make up for it i'm going to lift very heavy, do HIIT training and SS cardio. And a TREX and YES and ECA, so i'm going to pin ball off the walls. I got some amazing new workout music, the new Oakenfold with Faster Kill Pussycat is perfect for HIIT.

Breakfast this morning the usual oatmeal and protein drink and I baked my chicken last nite for this weekend.

So hello all and have a fab weekend. Its raining here, poop, thank goodness for indoor barns with horses.

Its called the Walk of Shame and We ALL do it form time to time...just log it so you are accountable for it and pick up and move on!! No big deal and don't beat yourself up over it!!
 
:lmao: Thuggie you crack me up!!! I'm catching up on your log and saw that Fabio bit you on the bum!!! lol Made me laugh out loud for sure!!!! I have no idea what goes into riding horses for show, so I have no idea how to count it as physical activity. Been around them all my life - my aunt has 4 and she's up at the crack of dawn taking care of them. I had a quarter horse when I was younger and I know how to care for them, but he was just a pleasure horse, so I don't know about show horse riding.

Being that you're bulking right now, I wouldn't worry too much about the little slips in your diet here and there. If you were cutting, that would be a big no no, but cut yourself a little slack for bulking. Diet looks pretty good, training looks great!

Hope you get good results back from the doc!

I had great results, all clear, I'm very fortunate after the years of absuse to my poor wee liver, but I'm trying to make up for it now.

I had an amazing workout, I was even almost sick at the end, I know that sounds dodgy but it makes me think I must have trained hard, mind u it could also be all the stimulates racing around my system :)

4x15 each leg reverse lunges with 110 pounds

Incline barbell chest press
4x15 35 pounds

Split squats
4 x 10 each leg 110 pounds

Underhand barbell rows supersetted with calve raises on leg press
4x12 60 pounds and 4x12 don't know the calve weight

Dumbell shoulder press
4x12 30 pound weight

Underhand Lat pulldown
4x10 100 pounds

25 Min
HIIT treadmill
6 jog, 10 sprint

20 Min stairmaster level 7

Very finished

Meal
Protein shake with rassberries
Bagel

Meal 3
Chicken and chopped up salad stuff

Meal 4
Homemade protein and oat bars

I'm not sure if I'm bulking or cutting, I'm useless, I was bulking but now I think I'm cutting, I put on 10 pounds eeek, but it does look like I have a bottom now, not just a flat flabby pancake. My boyfriend is back from his adventures tonight so I'll do photos in the morning and find some courage and post them, and then people can tell me what to do, I mean I know I have fat,and if I can do both together then fab, if not well bikini season soon so maybe not bulking anymore.

OMG!!!! I think I'm going to cry!! Jaffa cakes. This weekend I have really been quite homesick and the thought of a cup of tea and a chocolate hob nob with my sister, well, I've been dreaming about it.

Hello again

I have taken pics, they are so awful, but I guess I said I would and it's all about accountability here so. I'm hoping my knickers detract from the splochy looking washing off tan and just plain dogdy photos, I have answered my own question, it is definatly time to lean out, that bottom does not need fud!

I finished up eating cleanish last nite with Salmon and veg, but it was overcooked so I stole some of my boyfriends steak.

Breakfast
oatmeal and protein drink

Rode Fab
Meal 2 cottage cheese and ricecakes

Workout
I'm just going to run for an hour
Then make Fabio pretty form next weeks show.

I now weight 148 minus 2.5 pounds of silicon :) so its really only 145.5 But still about 10 too heavy. I will look for some before as I was a blobby mush, so I have improved.
