Once my GF gets thru with school and gets a real job, we will be taking vacations to various countries. I should be financially sound by then and neither of us want kids, so it will def. be feasible.
This is not a criticism of Americans...

I think this is why they do not go abroad. We get a ton of Americans up in Canada every year.
During the Comedy Fest, all you hear walking down the street is "HUH". a favorite American expression. Oh yeah and lots of ppl in white running shoes ;-)

I can recall when my hubby was in Germany. He was getting ready to work witha group of guys before lunch. They imformed him they'd be back "later". Four hours later they show up and he's like, 'WTF"? They did this routine daily too. Laid back people, gotta love that.
He wanted on that program when he came back to the states!

I think Americans are overworked personally. Who the F cares how rich we can make big businnesses and corporations? I'd rather love and live life more than have to work 40+ hours per week with a couple weeks vacation (which is typical).
All this does is force people to slack and do half-assed jobs while at work. I see it all the time.

Europeans work hard...they are not lax or lazy! They get a lot of vacation time and get paid well which American's would exploit if they had the same thing.
The work ethics are much different in Europe.

you have evidently never been to Vegas because 1/2 the country is there with their cameras. (BTW I live in Japan)
