Thinking about making a trip down to daytona beach

I live in NJ and just want to get away from everything for a few days....havent went away in over a year. I may go crash at a friends place in daytona beach. Will be driving there. Anyone ever drive by themselves long distance like that? Ever been to daytona beach....where should i go?
 
that's a long fuckin drive. the gas will be more than a plane ticket, and then factor in the miles.

not to mention you gotta spend 20 hours in a car each way

can get a round trip ticket to miami and back outta newark for like 200 bucks or so
 
I drove from Virginia beach to miami one shot only stoping for gas one time, probably the longest ive ever drove, calvless is right, we met friends down there that took plane for only 100 bucks round trip, cost me almost double in gas, plus parking is a real hassle once you get down there
 
my friend has a place in daytona....$$$ is very tight so I dont want to spend $$$ on a hotel. So I figured drive down, crash there for a couple of days and then come back....its more for my head than anything else....I just need some peace
 
well daytona suxs...you can hang out with white trash and do nothing there...i guess if ur trip just costs you gas money id go...but you will not be blown away when you get there..to cold to swim also..may be able to get a bit of sun..gonna be a long car ride...i would expect to spend 24 hours each way driivng ..thats with resting eating etc

Daytona has gotten a lot better over the last few years. A single guy could find good ways to spend his time.

I have driven from NYC to Daytona and you can make it in about 12 hours but that depends where you are in NJ. I'm talking no stops except the have to's. Also a nice car will be a lot easier than a beater especially a truck.

I would do it if I was you. If you're at the south end of NJ use the ferry.

Exactly. I just wanna get away (like that commercial) to where I dont really know anyone and the weather is not freezn. Kind of just want to lounge out at the beach by myself. I dont have much $$$ (i just need enough for gas and food) so Ill stay at a friends place, he'll be working most of the day, so ill be alone most of the time. I need to get some clarity. Plus the drive there will give me that as well

I dont live in south jersey....right next to NYC. Mapquest said itll take me 16.5 hours. I figured i can get there in about 12 or 13. I have a Lexus IS 300 (2003) so the ride will be fine....ill have my ipod as well.

Bring and empty milk jug to piss in while you're driving. Or gatorade or aquafina bottles work too. Need something with a wide opening.
Be careful for vapor lock, too much pressure will build in the reservoir and your piss wont come out. you gotta release it every once in a while.

That way you can slam energy drinks and water and keep driving with no stops.
 
Daytona is a dump

it's fun though getting wasted, going to the beach and watching latino tools driving their cars up and down the strip

met a group of girls on the beach that were from Orlando, no older than 18, swear to god within 30 minutes of meeting this one slut, we were fucking in the hotel bathroom. All on camera (foggy)

Seen Vanilla Ice at some club on stage down there, this was in 03 when he was trying to make a punk comeback. Was suppose to be the hot club down there, wasn't that sweet
