I have to say, training and dieting for this NPC contest has re-confirmed what I knew along .

All these diet manipulations that the science geeks love to talk about is utter bullshit. Going old school here. All the books and all the methods and clinics and theories and seminars and analysis about fat loss can be summed up in one sentence:

Eat as much protein as possible with as little overall calorie intake as possible.

Done.

Done-fucking done, done. There's really nothing else to say or do. That is IT.
 
i really don't know how you guys/gals in NYC stay so trim eating all that chinese and italian food like i see on tv, it must be all that walking you all do. seems like if i even look at the wrong food I gain, maybe i should get rid of my car and just walk/bicycle everywhere. i think being on my ass all day in an office job is a killer even though i do get in morning and evening cardio

Cardio just eats muscle. Train to build muscle. Then, yeah, I walk and bike everywhere.
 
Doesn't work for everyone. I have been in a calorie deficit for nearly a year with high protein and I can't get under 12%. Even with 2 hours of cardio per day for a good part of that year in addition to weight training. If it were as simple as low cals and high protein I would have disappeared by now.

HAHAHA..its not all Chinese and Italian...there is also Indian, Japanese, Thai and let's not forget the absorbent amount of steak houses thru-out the tri-state area. lol

You're doing a few things wrong. First of all, 12% may be your set point and you have to get more extreme. NOBODY ever kept cutting calories and didn't lose weight.

And 2 hours of cardio is probably tanking your metabolism.

I have tried with and without the cardio. Tried IF....tried lots of meals.....still way under maintenance daily unless my maintenance number is like 800 per day.

My genetics are geared to put on weight. Which would be great if I was an aspiring bb'er. But I have no desire to get overly large. Just solid build and lean. I'm fighting my body constantly to try to stay and get lean.

Lots of folks have told me I must be doing things wrong. But I track every calorie and macro. Always been on point.

This man...this... Too much cardio will have your metabolism in the gutter. I posted a good article awhile ago that shows why girls shouldn't run... Ill try to find it again. And not saying your a girl it's relevant to males too. Too much cardio = crawling metabolism .

So just protein for breakfast lunch and dinner plus snacks right?

New to this and am bulking now but feel a bit fat, so after cycle and all the big weights just go cardio and light on weights right? And with that diet I should get some good definition correct ( the hamsters running here) !
