The Secret To Getting Cut REVEALED!

interesting points everyone.

when i ran 40-45 miles a week i think that would qualify as a shitload of cardio. we are talking 6-8 minute mile pace btw which is pretty damn fast and my body fat was clocked at 6%

also keep in mind everyone's metabolism is different. everyone's job is different. when i lived in my apartment i would walk my puppy like 5X per day or he would piss on the carpet. i stayed trim during this time even eating junk.. when i bought a house and had a backyard i walked him way less and i put on fat.

when i was younger my metabolism was fast but as i've gotten older its slowed down. i always wondered when i was younger why fat people go so fat when i was eating so much and never gained.. but you gotta put yourself in other peoples shoes who have slower metabolism. its also not easy for a lot of people to gain muscle either, and for others we put it on really easy.

I have to say, training and dieting for this NPC contest has re-confirmed what I knew along .

All these diet manipulations that the science geeks love to talk about is utter bullshit. Going old school here. All the books and all the methods and clinics and theories and seminars and analysis about fat loss can be summed up in one sentence:

Eat as much protein as possible with as little overall calorie intake as possible.

Done.

Done-fucking done, done. There's really nothing else to say or do. That is IT.

Yup. I don't have the time for all the shenanigans. Props to them though for attempting to perfect the science.

I have tried with and without the cardio. Tried IF....tried lots of meals.....still way under maintenance daily unless my maintenance number is like 800 per day.

My genetics are geared to put on weight. Which would be great if I was an aspiring bb'er. But I have no desire to get overly large. Just solid build and lean. I'm fighting my body constantly to try to stay and get lean.

Lots of folks have told me I must be doing things wrong. But I track every calorie and macro. Always been on point.

dude you are right. i have become like you as i've gotten older. whether i cut calories or not makes not a lick of difference.. i have tried it all.. i cannot get back under 12%.. i feel like i would have to run 3-4 miles a day to get under that and then that would be counter productive to my strength and muscle goals.

the whole cutting calorie thing doesn't work for everyone.. there are guys who eat nothing but junk all day and stay skinny.. and there are fatties that barely eat anything that stay fat. it takes more than just calorie surpluses and deficits to reach weight goals.. every BODY is so different !!!!

i think as athletes especially you cannot just depend on calorie manipulation to reach weight goals, it would be a mistake to assume that.

Figured I wasn't the only one. I do run 8-10 miles per day and still hasn't changed. I have slowly tried bringing in more cardio, and I have tried no cardio. Still can't drop any lower in bf. too bad our goals don't always match genetics. I feel if I tried to bulk I would pack on huge size very quickly. My appetite is massive and my body wants to grow.

Everyone is different, that is the 'secret to getting cut' Not just cals and macros. Too much cardio may hurt someone's metabolism, while others will burn more rapidly as they add cardio. Loom at Dylan G and his cardio regime. Doesn't seem to be hurting his metabolism.

let me ask you this.. have you ALWAYS been like this?

cause when i was younger like in my mid teens i weighed like 115 pounds with like 5% body fat.. i was skinny as a rail. then when i was running half marathons i was 135 at 6% body fat in my mid 20's. i was eating whole pizza's at a time like nothing.. pasta after every run. i was taking in an insane amount of calories and still stayed thin.

once i started using AAS i have never been less than 12% body fat, i really wonder if the AAS has caused my body to change from ecto to meso.. perhaps the 'growth' imbalance that AAS gives has had an effect on me.. anyway i am not complaining.. i would rather be 200 at 13% and built like a train than be 135 and skinny.

Actually, yea, I have always been like this. Even when I was in high school and college playing 3 sports, I was never really lean. I was In great shape but never fully cut up. I didn't really diet carefully back then either though.

And this is the reason I've accepted my body's genetic makeup. I can't get really cut no matter how hard I've tried with my diet and cardio. I lost 40lbs at one time and still wasn't cut. My parents are thicker people and that where I get my genetics from. I'm 225lbs and would love to be 210lbs or 215lbs but I still will have a thicker build. I'm lean enough and proud that I'm not a fat ass on the couch not caring about his weight. I have a nice build and I except not being super cut.

Couldn't agree more, here's. What did it for me over the winter. 7 hrs snowboarding, then to
The gym for 4 hours basketball then lifting. All while consuming 1g of protein per 1 lb body mass, keeping calories low as possible. I've stayed about 180 5'11 and lost 3% bf almost to 9%. I've been trying to
Cut for years with no outstanding success. this is probably the only time in my life I haven't been "trying" and it is just happening. I am now shifting over to mountain biking in place of boarding. I know most people don't have time for This shit, I sat in a
Cubicle for years so I am making the most of part time work living in the mountains.

Interesting post. I can relate.

Through most of HS I was around 5' 10", 140 lbs no matter how much I ate and lifted. Excluding 'warm up', I avoided cardio like the plague and stayed cut. Eventually, after a few years of 4-5K+ cal/day and protein/gainer shakes til I would gag, I finally got to about 170-175 lbs. But that was it.

After the juice was loose, it didn't take long to break 200. After a few years I was 220. And yes, it seemed as though my body had changed (not just weight).

I also haven't been able to get back to that low bf%. Getting older plays a role, but for me, I definitely believe AAS played a role.

Now in my 30's. I fluctuate, but I'm usually around 230lbs. If my activity is light, I could maintain with about 1-2, 200 cal shakes and 2, 500 cal meals. Talk about about a change in metabolism.

^^^ what happened to you is what happened to me.

those extra hormones makes the difference but also as adults the change in metabolism..

those that are already meso AAS can turn into stage ready guys and those fuckers can eat trash and workout half as hard as ecto's and still keep muscle

and then the endomorphs are guys that have always been chunky and no matter how low they take their cals, how much cardio they do, how much AAS they take they still can never get under 15% body fat.

i've found that growing up i was definately an ecto, but now as an adult no doubt I am endo.. all has to do with genetics of being meditaranean.. if a meso were to train and diet like I do they would be winning regional BB contests with ease. they are the dudes that were always picked first in sports and basically the jocks.
