B... HOLY SHIT! You weighed 220 when doing that second kata? No way man... that shit is crazy, you kick pretty fuckin swift and get good height. Were you kickin' your fastest there? Cuz I know I get around REAL quick, quicker than that (not tryin' to compete, you still got height and I'm sure power on me) and I think I'm getting motivated alot now... did you train with weights while you were taking the arts and did those katas?

Lol...Yeah I weighed 220+ when doing that kata...all of them.

When doing kata, which I am not good at, that was nearly my best ever. That was also my biggest weight and size that I ever competed at. I am still pretty quick. The much smaller guys LOOKED a lot faster than I ever did...but they never beat me sparring. As tall as I am it takes me a long time and a lot of space to throw a kick or a punch...lol.

Fuck you >_< Sorry, didn't mean it that way I just mean.. DAMN MAN! Now youre inspiring me to weight lift, get bigger now, and since I'm already tall I can fill in more.

I dunno, I guess I'm just scared of getting heavier first off (cuz I used to be chunky, and this past Summer got especially trimmed and strong -- I definately did good gaining some muscle this summer)

Now, I don't wanna be as big as you, I just want to set that straight. I wanna be descently muscular of course. Though, a few problems arise. Besides the fact that I don't wanna get too chunky again cuz I like feelin' good about myself, gettin' so much food like you get is gonna be a problem to an extent, and the nearest gym about 3 miles away, and I can't exactly get there because I have no car, and have like no free time anyway (between school, sleeping adequately, work...)

So I'm really stuck now. What do I do, man? I'm not old enough to drive yet so I can't just get to the gym easy. I'm able to buy some food for myself but I don't wanna spend $60 of my check a week just to by myself food. My asshole parents should do that.

Just do the BEST that you can with what you have been given...I have.

And B, could ya' check my post "Navy Seal Training & My Knee"? I need some good advice on what to do there. If I can't squat bodyweight (it bothers my right knee) I dunno how I'm gonna use weights...

I read that serious sparrers should only lift weights a certain way, so they dont get slowed down. Like I said, I dont know to much about lifting. How should I lift weights so I dont get 'slowed down', if this is even true, but many masters have told me this. I dont really know what they are talking about.
This is one of the most common myths in MA's that has always pissed me off. I truly believe that many good fighters have fallen into this bullshit mindset and failed to reach their potential because some 140 lb whoopty-fucking-doo "black belt" prof told them so. DO NOT BELIEVE IT.

I've been training since I was a pencil necked little geek and was known for my speed. I never had size, but I was faster than almost everyone. Now I'm 260 lbs and just as fast. If I continue training in OL and Powerlifts I think I can become even faster. After I overcome a couple injuries, I may begin fighting again and I will come back 100 lbs heavier and even faster than before.

Who would you rather be hit by...a 135 lb guy with 20 years MA's background, or a 260 lb guy with 20 yrs experience? Think about it. Lift bro. Lift hard, lift heavy...deadlift, squat, bench, military, clean, snatch.

Sorry, that myth makes me angry

Good luck:)

thats FUCKING GREAT!in fight 1 you kicked his ass! how much did you weigh there? i'm gonna DL the rest!

HAHA this is great STUFF! do you have more? that kata is cool too, how old were you in those movies? and btw, is that a mullet i see there? hehehe lol GREAT stuff

I know this may sound weird at firts but me and one of my brothers competed in boxing and most of the power came from the hips and back, I know you're probably thinking back, WHY:confused: ...
Well when punching your back needs to pull the one one arm back as the other shoots forward. Hence like a counterbalance, this provided with hip and leg drive will almost destroy any object out there.... This is why many heavy punchers have well developed back and glutes, and some even have good legs;) .... I did shotokan for a while (almost 19 years) and I know that type of punching is similiar to Tae kwan-do, most of that type of punching realize on hip torque and the ability to relax one's hand and arm as it whips forward, untill it meets the object, then it should harden like steel and twist over to lessen the area of impact and increase the pounds per square inch exzerted on an object....
