LOL Cakerbaby... NO TRAINING LEGS BEFORE YOUR RUN! Save them, you'll be thankful.T-Cake said:Not sure if I will do legs or upper body tonight. I'm sort of afraid to do legs 2 days before a 1/2 marathon. If I kill them and they are sore on Saturday for the run, I'll be real sorry... I guess I answered my own question!
Ahhh no I don't think I would have done legs either before I ran!!!! I hope you feel better girlie. I always find eating red meat once a month or so keeps me sane. No wonder I was insane on my diet down.. no red meatsbt2082 said:Awwwwwwwwww sorry to hear bout the feeling sick again hun!!! Stay away from that red meatHope you start feeling better soon... and from past experiences I wouldn't do legs a couple days before a half marathon either because I remember the last time I did a spin class then tried to train legs... well it made my leg workout very crummy so I would only imagine it having the same affect vice versa, my $.02
Feel better sweetie!!! (((HUGS)))![]()
LOVE the pictures -- hilarious! That alone would cheer me up, for sure. Also, I'm stealing "Cakerbaby" and making that my new MySpace name -- too cute.*Bunny* said:LOL Cakerbaby... NO TRAINING LEGS BEFORE YOUR RUN! Save them, you'll be thankful.

Thanks for talking with me last night -- I still don't know why your call didn't register; odd. Weird-ass phone does that sometimes. You're right, I had to pick myself up last night. I worked super hard at the gym... and then came home and was crying like a dumb baby because my legs hurt and I was so damn exhausted. Ulter tried to cheer me up and ended up making me go to bed, which was the best idea.sbt2082 said:Drop the sourpuss attitude ASAP
If I turned my attitude around the last couple of days then I have no doubt that you can do the same as well
Don't make me call ya:

Thank you for the well-wishes. I got 8 hours of sleep last night and took this morning off from cardio. I made it through my day at work/school just fine but still feel just worn out tonight... *sigh* Whatchagonnado, ya' know?Will2BLean said:Feel better soon, T-Cake!!!![]()
Good idea about the red meat -- I really think the steak WAS too much... but I also ate a lot of it, so that may have been what really did me in. I'd eaten the buffalo burger before without problems, so that might be something I'll still take a chance with just to keep my body used to it. I DO miss it, though! That burger was INSANELY tasty!treilin said:Ahhh no I don't think I would have done legs either before I ran!!!! I hope you feel better girlie. Good luck on your run!!
The race is at DisneyWorld and they are sticklers about letting anyone into the parking LOTS, let alone the parks for the race and grandstands, who don't have the parking tickets or bibs or admission tickets on them. SO usually that might have been a good option, but it starts INSIDE the park... so since I can't get in to the park... I can't run. I wouldn't make it past the parking lot because the parking ticket is included in the packet.Roonytunes said:Awwww, T-Cake, I'm sooooooooooooooo sorry to hear that. Sometimes it's the universe's way to tell us to take it a little easier. If you're still determined to do the race, can you just run it away? I know many who do that here in Philly...you just won't get an official time because you don't have a chip, but you can run alongside everyone else from the start to the finish, I believe. Just a thought!

That is SO not true and you know it. I think the competitors attitude here about doing a comp, well for alot of the ladies I talk to, is you already won before you step on that stage. No trophy, medal or gift will make your awesome feat any less valuable b/c you didnt win something. I think it's very important to remember there will be other races, you will get these awards in due time but most of all you will get that inner satisfaction of knowing you did it, you accomplished it, and You won FOR YOU, not b/c a medal says X place. Some people just do not get that when I tell them this, as if I dont want to win. Not about that all all.T-Cake said:Only finisher's get medals... I won't get one of those.![]()
T-Cake said:I paid nearly a hundred bucks to do this... so I may go get my packet tomorrow anyway because it has a tshirt and freebies in it. I could at least go to the Expo -- the MARATHON, full one, is Sunday, so those runners will be picking their stuff up tomorrow. I at least deserve my damn tshirt... thought I'm a poser for wearing it.
