Sugar Consumtption Post Workout?

Why don't you add honey its better for you?

what is Agave

Organic Agave Nectar is a new sweetener naturally extracted from the pineapple-shaped core of the Americana Agave (a cactus-like plant native to Mexico, best known for its use in making tequila). It has a 70% fruit sugar content allows Agave Nectar to absorb slowly into the body, decreasing the highs and lows associated with sugar intake. Also, because fruit sugars are 25% sweeter than typical refined white sugar, you use less and save on calories. Organic Agave Nectar dissolves easily and the taste is natural, and is a good sweetener to naturally enhance any food or beverage! Processed below 120 degrees Fahrenheit and made from mature 8-10 year old plants.

I prefer Stevia, which is all natural. But if you're used to sugar; Agave is the natural progression.
We get there one-step-at-a-time..

sugar is good to the bb'er. when you should use it depends on you and how you respond to it. i drink a glass of whole milk with every meal i eat except my meal at the gym. at the gym post w/o i drink fruit juice loaded with sugar. any way there is a science to the ratio of complex/simple carbs that could be better for some than the common complex carbs only throughout the day.

I never eat sugar in my diet. period. besides the natural ones found in foods... so i think a small tea spoon with my Post w/o shake isnt going to hurt me, but can benefit from it, example Insulin levels rise drives nutrients into the muscles and replenish them witch is what everyone aims for after a hard workout...

an insulin spike is good post w/o but right after the sooner the better

Does it make a difference if its refined white sugar or brown sugar?

They are practically the same.

What really matters is whether your carb intake PWO exceeds your glycogen debt.

Dextrose may be superior to normal sugar (sucrose) but all studies on the point don't indicate any advantage between pure dex formulations and mixed formualtions (eg honey, 1/2 gluc, 1/2 fruct)

Personally, I would prefer some carb formulation that was nutritive.

Bananas, butternut squash, russett potatoes, are all high potassium, reasonably high GI (bananas medium) and nutritious. The latter has an awesome ORAC score too.
