Starvation Mode

Well I didnt take much. I actually leaned out real quick, so I didnt have to carb deplete at all...but I did have to carb load!! I should have carb loaded for a few days longer than I did, but thats not the point. The only I took was Clen and Anavar. I switched between clen and a fat burner though, througout the whole training period. Did the anavar 6 weeks out from show, then stopped about a week out from the show I think. So nothing to crazy. I did no diuretics or anything, I didnt need too. I did eat real bad after the show, I didnt know you had to slowly add in the "bad" food again. I am new to this. But then I got depressed with how "swollen" I was and I started a diet regimen and working out 7 days a week again and tried so hard to lose the weight. But it wouldnt leave..and now its been 3 months and I am still slowly gettin bigger. Its so weird. And I also still have had no period yet! So...im assuming my body is just in need of a major break. So I am backing off a little... I am just afraid I wont quit getting bigger, and I dont know what to do. Any one else ever experienced this?? Any more advice anyone has is much appreciated! :)

I think the best thing you could do right now is give yourself some time and consistency. It sounds like your body is still trying to stabilize and even itself out, not having your period back is a good indication of that. As hard as it is, a week off, meaning completely and totally off, is really a good idea. Do some light walking and eat at maintenance. Keep your calories clean but try an eat at maintenance for the whole week.

It will go against everything you think you should do, because everything you believe is to diet to lose the weight but I believe it will help your body even out and start to stabilize. What happens is we end up caught in a cycle of trying to diet but getting bigger and burnt out and even more depressed.

Hang in there!

I deal with many females post comp. You really need to take a break. Your body has been through so much and needs that time away. Meaning weights, cardio and get off of a structure eating plan for a bit.

I competed in 2 figure shows this year. I didn't take any diuretics for these show, I didn't carb load, nor did I deplete sodium. I drank water all the way up to my show...BUT I did fail to contiune to drink my water after my show. I ate a bunch of stuff and I got very swollen. I got back on to drinking water and the bloat started to taper out.

That's it. You gotta drink plenty of water to keep the bloat away. As soon as you drop it down the female body wants to start tucking it between the muscle and skin and you start to morph into the StayPuff Marshmallow girl.

IG, do you advise the girls you train to taper off the anti-e's post comp rather than just drop it abruptly in order to avoid the estrogen rebound?

lol That's a good way of putting it. StayPuff Marshmallow girl. hahaha. I experience most of my bloating in my legs and feet/below the calves. Sometimes to the point of it hurts to walk. Ugh, gotta drink that h20. After a contest, you're sick of drinking water and just want to EAT! lol

Yes, tapering off of anti-e's are the best approach to take. I would continue whatever does I was at prior to contest and continue on for about a week and then cut dose in half. I find this approach to help with the rebound especially when you start incorporating crap into the diet. At about 1 week post, the girls are usually sick of eating crap and want to start back on a cleaner diet.
