Specific Training for Martial Arts

its not directly related but my sensei has a nice little saying regarding technique and strength. first he advocates technique. w/o technique you have nothing... but anyway.. he says, "anyone who says strength does not matter has probably lost a lot of fights"

and it is true.

you need technique but strength helps and allows you to get a technique that you might have missed if you were weaker...

Kane fan. I get what you're saying all things being equal in the positioning and technique department the stronger guy will win.

Judging from your lack of respect when it comes to positioning I would guess you are not an elite level wrestler or judoka.

well you are right I am not an elite level anything really
but you are also ignorant to say I have a lck of respect when it comes to positioning
what part of 'possition helps a lot' shows a lack of respect for possition?
what I was getting at, that you missed, is that I was looking for what I can do in the WEIGHT ROOM to improve as a fighter, I can't improve my tech or possitioning in the weightroom unless maybe I improve my flexability or something, and I'd be willing to work on that believe me
but the question pertains to the weightroom
tho I also like the idea of sandbag work for grappling and slams especially
not so much for striking other maybe then some twist-tossing a sandbag or medicine ball

There is a lot in the gym you can do but it takes a vary different appraoch than most people tyhink. Most people take the BB'er route and wonder why it doesn't translate well, or even powerlifting for that matter. Basically every excercise should be done for a purpose

trust me Im' no where near the BB route
closer to PL/Strongman
I do love the Deadlift so maybe that makes me closest to PowerLifting
but I also like the GPP/SPP Sandbag work
I was thinking Sandbag Swings would be good for Slams
