Some skinny kid at my gym told me: "Bro, you over-train"

Some skinny prick at my gym today told me that I over-train. He made this comment because he saw me do arms 3 times in a one week. First of all, my arms are 18 inches, which is big for 170lbs. I am in very good shape otherwise also. I used to believe that also, but I see myself growing more that I do body parts 2-3 times a week. Besides, my theory is that Pro's are in the gym 5+ hours a day, it is their career. They look great and train way morew than i do. Am I right or wrong?? Whatever it may be, my gains are showing by the week. Anyways, the 135 pounder pissed me off and I told him his arms looked like string beans and that he might want to get on my program. Fucker!

sorry but I think he is right ...

doing arms 3 x a week is overtraining .....unless you are not working out with intensity

hey man sometimes its the brain not the braun. I think the skinny kid was right. You shouldn't be doing "body parts" 2 - 3 times a week. I grow alot better if I do arms once every 6, maybe 5 days. You need to give your muscles time to recuperate, they grow when your NOT lifting.

Also the pros can train 5+ hours a day cuz they are on INSANE amounts of juice that allow them to recover like lightning.. you can't do that :D

Just out of curiosity... what does your workout week consist of, by day if you would....

Just wondering, because You shouldn't do a body part more than one week.. just my $.02.

I knew this post would be bashed, but you know what.....i have been lifting for 6 years. I just started this 2-3 a week routine for each part. I've gotten sick results from it, my arms grew like wildfire. I feel the best I ever been. Maybe you are right, but my genetics are reacting 100% to what I am doing. I will not change my routine, not at the rate I am growing. The point of the matter is, I hate when people make comments when they look like shit themselves. I see people at the gym do fucked up exercises the wrong way, but I just keep my mouth shut, and that is exactly what he should of done. If doing one body part once a week works for you, so be it. But whatever I am doing, is working for me.

i know where your comin from i get ripshit at the lil fucks who tell me to go do 21's ... and then correct my form on curls ...

I do agree more is not better especially during intense trainning. If you are working out with max intensity your arms really should be sore as hell and still need time to recup. Your arms probably shouldn't allow you to do that much. But then again I also agree with, "if it isn't broken don't fix it" statment. However, eventhough it is working this type of routine can easily lead to burn out and cause you to slack later on. Up your intensity a little and cut back you should get even better gains than your getting now. Best work out routine I ever had is the famous four day split. I love it and grow like a weed.
That is just IMO.

if the pros can do arms 2-3 times a week or do a lot of sets and reps is because they hit a lot of roids.....a lot....and that skinny kid is right you are overtraining
