Some black guy called me a stupid nigger today

I was driving w/ the windows down and he pulled up next to me and not really sure what motivated him but he yelled "stupid nigger" at me and turned.

what a strange man
 
I think that is one of the most disgustimg words a person can call another. I do not care what color the person's skin is who uses it either.

LMFAO... I am so dark I got mistaken for a Latino in Vegas this weekend. Got asked many many times what my ethnicity was - when I said Irish / German, there were discussions of disbelief.

I think I over did it.

Ok wait, I just recalled. I used the term "in the black community" and Gjohn, took offense to that and asked me 100 times to explain what the term "black community" means.

I'm not racist but only an idiot can think there is no differences between ethnic communities in this nation. There are HUGE differences and the biggest problem is that people are too fucking ignorant to admit to and address those differences.

Multiculturalism just doesn't work because no matter how the government forces people to like each other, they don't.

How is any word disgusting? they got that name because it is a shade of brown, so calling a white guy that is completely stupid, when i was a kid i remember my gran keeping some toys in a shoe box and on the box it said 'nigger brown' i agree not to call people names, but all words originally came from a normal every day meaning, look at gay, used to mean happy, how the fuck did it go from that to another man fucking another man in the arse, that what it means, gay does not mean a man who has an eye for fasion lol!!!

For some reasons I see black people calling each other "nigger" but i've never seen a jew calling another jew "kike, Nazi or kapo". Same with asians they dont call each other "gook".... weird.

That's not entirely true. I've dated several very old school Jewish guys who would constantly poke fun at themselves for their specific stereotypical behavior.

And even in my community we call those "Big Dumb Magyars" who fit the bill exactly that... Showy/loudmouthed/ego-maniac/chauvenists... generally male but smaller percentage females for obvious reasons.

There are differences amongst ethicities/religions/gender etc... They should be embraced. The only time we run into trouble is when ANYONE propogates hatred.

It is my understanding that the N-word was synonymous to calling someone stupid or less intelligent and was used specifically for those descendants of Africans in the US brought here for slaves to propogating THE MYTH that someone who has darker skin color (than superior whites :rolleyes: ) is inferior.

I'd put Kike on the same level as nigger. But again, I see young black peeps saying "nigger this, nigger that". Most rap songs will have a few "niggers" along with the usual "hoe" and "bitch".... There must be a reason lol
 
Black, Urban culture cannot embrace and celebrate the word while at the same time deciding only certain races can use it, doesn't work that way.

The word is either acceptable for all to use or it is unacceptable.

One another note, get over it, still just a word.

Racism would not stop if suddenly all white people or everyone stopped using the word, especially since there is such a rediculous double standard. Making an issue out of a word is just a distraction to the underlying problems and a porr one at that.

While I do agree with some of your statement (the bolded part) I must humbly take issue with the whole "word" arguement. We all know that actions speak louder than words, however, we must not forget that the pen is mightier than the sword.

It has always puzzled me why some choose to use that power to incite hatred and violence. Why not use that power to have a positive on those that read your words? (Not saying you specifically MM).

The whole societal acceptance and proliferation of hatred towards ANYONE is far more complicated than the use of any one word. But still, doesn't the longest journey begin with a single step?

My 11 year old daughter came home and called me her favorite "N-a" last year. I asked her where she heard the word. It seems a few of her friends heard the word and passed it along the group.Know what I did? I got on the phone with each of the parents!

A few weeks later, I picked up 2 of the 4 kids, and took them to the Black Heritage Museum to have them experience history and "real" music.

I think that EVERYONE on elite knows how *I get* when hate is proliferated... been that way the entire 7 years I have been here. So I guess I musta got pretty good at it or.... it is genuine.

I have a problem with assigning the term hate to using any singular word.

One would do well to keep in mind it is only a word and then read the first quote in your signature.

I think you may have missed my point.

However, people are free to say whatever they wish. You are deciding how to react to what they say.

I am not ignoring anything. I am choosing to react differently than you are. Using a word is not inflammatory nor is it hated filled rhetoric.

You cannot define hatred with the use of a single word. If that is the case as you see it, then blacks are filled with a lot of self-hatred.

Controlling speech is not addressing the real issue, it only serves as a distraction.

Your reaction to the word is a learned response. A small black child doesn't know nigger is good or bad until someone tells them it is bad.

My point is to stop reacting to the word and it has no power.

That small black child wasn't born know that the n word is any more offensive then if she were a female child being called the c word. My point is that we should all call a spade a spade... It ain't a blowtorch or an apple or pantyhose... it is a suit in playing cards... right?

Somehow I don't think that you would sit there and smile at anyone who called your mother the c word... would you? Yes, they are *only words*... or are they?

Our words are just one way that we can express ourselves. Our actions are another. I don't care if you say that you love me while you beat the shit out of me...

What I am saying is that such rhetoric is not funny. We can all laugh and PRETEND it doesn't harm anyone but our intelligence says otherwise. I am not saying that anyone who uses offensive hate-filled language should just acosted physically. But certainly they need to be reminded of the manners that perhaps their mothers did not teach them.
