#1 responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect it's citizens, period. This is very simple...Afganis give up Ben Ladin (if it's determined that he's responsible) or the bombing starts.

Now I'm going to say something very "inflammatory".....
The U.S. gov't HAS TO treat the lives of U.S. citizens as being MORE IMPORTANT that the lives of people in other countries, that's the point of even having borders and a gov't in the first place.

Laserdudes Bro here, This one requires a response on more then one front, multiple countries are potentially harboring these criminals, so multiple strikes are necessary. Thermal nuclear weapons maybe used in this one, I'm for one am not going to wait for UN approval, fuck them.

Mr. President, we will not condone anything less, the loss of life is so extreme that placing troops, airforce, or Navy personel at risk is unacceptable. The only responce should absolutely be deadly as can be. No quarter should be given, no stone unturned, justice without the UN or any other sanctioning body other then your office is required. I know right now the FED'S are watching every board, and every public forum, let this be my vote.

Go for it GWB, you have my vote, now do the right thing........Hammer as many countries that harbor these kind of scum ASAP. None but the guilty need complain.....Nuke them Mr. President, you have little choice. I, for one, will not condem you for it.

bikinigirl and burnin' are right.

Still FrankRizzo, you don't paint targets on the heads of an entire country because of the beliefs of a radical organization within. The whole fight fire with fire thing always makes a bigger fire.
One of the few things that separates us, the civilized world, from the so-called "ragheads" is the fact that most of us are not driven solely by religion and hatred against others, but by rationale, morale and co-operation. What we need is a joint intelligence operation of finding out the location of the organization that did this and bringin' them to court. I would assume that these people will not surrender and they must be killed anyway. U will get the revenge that you Americans and we European want more than anything at this time of sorrow, anger and disbelief.

Killin' thounsands of innocent people in the process of killin'killin' bin Laden (it's him), will fuel the contradictions and lead to greater terrorism. And I'm talkin' about a constant fear of terrorism in all western countries ie. the situation in London, Ireland that the US has not felt ever before. Do we want that or do we want the right people judged/most likely killed? I promise u, that is not what u want.

On a more personal note, I have a friend workin' in WTC and know nothing of her faith. I want blood too, but it is not the long term answer for world peace.

R.I.P victims and best of courage to all Yorkers and americans. The ones responsible, be warned.

the ones that are responsible for this horrific act should be slaughtered, as well as anyone who harbours or finances them. one question, how can someone retaliate when the entire nation has been bombed completely flat.

I'll tell you who. I say kill every known terrorist in the FBI and CIA files. Just wipe em out no trial, no jury just execution by any means possible. Give anybody that kills one of them a couple of million bucks. I'll pitch in. How about ya'll?

Just wipe all the terrorist off the face of the planet. Who needs them.

But mostly, I'm just pissed that you would wish capture and torture on somebody. I think that in relation to what he said, it was way over the top."

You're right. I should have just met the worded attack with the same force as he used in his against me. I should have just wished death to him, instead of torture. MY BAD.

I agree with you! But too many of us have way too much unfocused anger. I'm FOR taking the culprits down, some of you think I'm totally against any and all retaliation. but for killing off everyone in a country JUST BECAUSE they're citizens of that country isn't right in MY OPINION. What do you get out of killing innocent people? I know that's what's war is all about, but no one ever said war was right either. If every single civillian had a part in the massacre, then FINE, ok? Something should be done to stop this from happening again, but killing everyone who has the potential to harm us and who are from a certain country because they have a possibility to turn into a terrorist in the future isn't the answer. It makes you a monster. Why not go kill every american male because Tim Mcveigh was a white american male, and look whathe did.

"burning inside, do you think that theres just 20 or so terrorist just living where they want and casually going around committing these acts? govts harbor these groups and provide support.training and weapons. thats who u bomb. this is basic knowledge, dont u watch tv or read?"

If Afghanistan is funding them, then FINE take out the political leaders of Afghanistan. I just don't understand why the entire populace has to be taken out. NOT ALL of the people over there wish harm on the U.S and it's people. I'm sure a majority of them do, but there is still that minority of people that don't deserve to be harmed. I value all good people in general, of any race or country. Why don't you?

I know, and I personally don't agree with that whole thing as to how just because you don't live in a country, you're automatically considered to be less of a person than those who reside in it. With that alone, you will never have world peace, there will always be some angst.

These threads are ridiculous. "NUKE EM KILL EM RAAARGH!!!" too bad you people don't even know that this isn't the work of a country, it's terrorist organizations. Just because they operate out of a certain country, doesn't mean that country had anything to do with it. So really, what country do you pro war people want to attack for this?

I took terrorism last semester, a vast majority of the acts are STATE sponsored, PanAm 103 was STATE sponsored, money was paid to terrorists by certain countries and deals were closed out. This can easily be the same thing, only time will tell.
