shoulder pain

I've been having a real sharp pain in my left shoulder lately whenever I do any pressing movements especially military press. This is really strange because I have no pre existing injuries and I've only recently incorporated shoulder excersises into my workouts. I can only do about 95 lbs on military press so its definately not because its too much weight. Is this the start of an injury? I try as hard as i can to keep my form in check, but for some reason the pain comes back every time i work shoulders. Should i see a doctor?

well if you dont know what it is you should get it checked out so you dont mess up yer shoulder permanantly.

Drop the military press. Replace it with incline db press and dips.
If you dont want to do that, check your form by having someone watch you, and if your form is there, Id say to drop some weight off, and go lighter.

Definately get it checked out. You don't want to mess around with shoulders injuries as if left untreated it could become a serious problem.

Yeah definetly get it checked out really soon by a doctor or physio and plz dont do any bench presses, dips or shoulder presses (basically anything to do with shoulders) in the time being.

Could be anything to do with the rotator cuff and once u injure that u can say goodbye to training your upper body for quite some time.:(

I'm am probably one of the most qualified people on this board to tell you, STOP LIFTING WEIGHTS AND GO GET YOUR SHOULDER CHECKED...

4 years ago, I tore a rotator cuff slightly. It was a minor injury from the start, and cause some pain while doing pressing movements but not enough to make me stop. Went to the doc and he diagnoses me, and told me to not even think about ANY upper body lifts for 6 weeks. Well, being a stupid ass I did not listen to him. I continued to bench, incline, etc...And tore my rotator cuff almost beyond return. And if you noticed I said 4 YEARS ago, well i've just now been able to get back in the gym. It took me almost 4 yrs to heal enough to lift heavy weight again. Surgery on shoulders is dangerous and a 50/50 chance on fixing you or fucking you up worse, not a chance I wanted to take. Don't even put yourself in that situation bro, the weights aren't going anywhere and you won't kill yourself to leave them alone for a week or so until you can see a doctor. Take it from me, it was pure hell not being able to lift for 4 yrs, do not put yourself in my shoes. Good luck

its a sharp internal pain almost right on the shoulder joint. I dont know much about anatomy so heres a picture. Image: http://www.emedx.com/emedx/diagnosi...ge_files/shoulder_images/model_1-shoulder.JPG

From this picture, i would say the pain is right on top of the rotator cuff. The thing I would like to know is how i caused this injury, if it is in fact an injury. I've only been lifting seriously for about 2 months and in that time, I've been working shoulders once a week and its not been much weight. Like I said earlier, 95 pounds max on military press.
What kind of doctor should I go see? chiropracter? I dont think there are any sports injury clinics in my area.
