yo.... my throat has been hurting a bit for the last 2-3 days. It's not that bad, but it definitely hurts. I drank some tea last night and it didn't seem to help.

Am i good to lift today? Sorry if this is a stupid question... i just don't want to lift when i am sick- i don't think i am, but is there any downside?

hey j, you can still lift, but imo it would be a bit harder. When i was sick, somewhat same thing i had a cough and runny nose, i was just a bit weaker when lifting and i couldn't do the same weights. You can still lift, but only thing would be you may feel like you can't lift the same.

if you can go have a 100% efective w/o then go. i you cant then it would just be a waste of time.

i would say aslong as the throat didnt stop u eating enough and drinking enough throughout the day before you lifted then you should be ok

Go with your gut... If you feel like lifting, go for it as long as you don't get light-headed or feeling sick. When I catch a bug, I usually get a little weak, and I can really tell when I can't lift my normal routine. Don't push it though. If you start feeling weak, your body might be saying it needs all the nutrition to fight a bug, and there isn't enough to lift too.

If you want to train...train. ANY day that you don't want to...don't. I might have one day every couple years where I don't want to train.

But anytime I feel sick...I mainly do my core exercise and then get out the door and go home!

If I been training really hard and start to get sick I back off... If haven't really been pushing to hard n jus start to get sick then I'll still go.... You will get a feel for it... Really you don't wana stress ur body to hard with work out while ur trying to fight off a cold... So jus depends on how sick u are n how hard ur training.

If I'm not feeling 100% and I go train, I'll go lighter than usual, and getting a sweat going always seems to make me feel better. Everyone is different but the only way you will know how it makes you feel is to go give it a try. If it isn't working for you, head home.
