That being said, voice tonality can be attractive or repulsive, too. Give me a man with a deep, smooth voice who could sideline as easy listening radio announcer (a la my husband), I could listen to that all day.

I've dropped clients and refused to do their work simply because I find their voices so grating. I end up sitting there fantasizing about strangling them.

Accents can definitely add to someone's allure. Where I live is only an hour from the Quebec border, so I have partied in Montreal many times and experienced my fair share of french-Canadian girls...super sexy accent. I like eastern european accents too.

Southern accents are really hit and miss. It has to be really, really mild for it to be attractive IMO.

I agee. With language comes culture as well, it is more than just the accent you are attracted to.

I hate northeastern accents. New york, new jersey, bahstahn...all of them are like nails on a blackboard to my ears.

I love eastern NC/tennessee accent (which is pretty similar level of twang....western NC is a bit thicker. Them mountain people). Love love love it. That takes a guy up about two points on the scale if he has a soft southern drawl mixed with some good southern manners (appropriate use of ma'am and sir, holds doors, etc). Texas accents are hit and miss. Deep south - it will make a hot guy hotter, but an average guy less attractive to me. Foreign accents are the same way....adds to it if he's hot, takes away if he's not.

I've got some really smart family members with some pretty thick accents, so I gotta admit, shirl, it cooks my grits (how's that for southern lol) when people say things like that.
