It is a great way to prevent soreness, but it may take some guts..

Alternating hot water for 30 sec with cold water for 30 sec., would help flushing out faster the built up of acid lactic and prevent the soreness after a workout or a run.

You do this routine 5 to 10 times depending on your cold water tolerance.
At the beginning it is a little bit unconfortable but you will get used after the first two doses.

It feels awesome when you get out from the shower and you eliminate almost complete the chance of a next day soreness... I have been doing this routine for almost 3 years and it really helped me with my recovery process.

It really worth to give it a try!!

I heard it called german shower aswell, whoever thought it up though doesn't matter much to me, I'll give it a try. Thanks for reminding me about it!

Don't be a wuss!

Try it a few times and see how you feel. I know for a fact that when I feel really sore , I jump under the jets alternating cold and hot for 5-10 min and I feel much better...Don't expect wonders as this is not deemed to be a panacea, but it sure has a soothing effect on one's muscle!

I'm a wuss man... but I'll give it a shot...

Nothin' like a little raisin bag to get ya fired up... :D

shower from hell

I usually get in with the water as cold as it gets, and stay under that for around 5 or so minutes, then turn the water on as hot as it will get,and usually stay under it until it goes out which usually isnt very long since our water heater is screwed up.It seems to help alot, and is pretty relaxing
