Scared little kids yesterday...

Suston, that's good stuff. My gym is probably somewhat like yours, you can see in those deadlift pics that I posted, all brand new equipment and yuppies as far as the eye can see. There are maybe 5 guys out of at least 1500 members that deadlift, and no one that goes as heavy as me. So when I get up to 5 plates a side for reps, everyone stops to see what that crazy fucker is doing.
No one at my gym squats below parallel except my training partner and I. So when I load up 4 plates a side and start going ass to the floor for reps, everyone looks at me like I have two asses. I even had one little punk, who could barely squat 2 plates for reps, come up and tell me that I was squatting too low. In turn, I asked him why my legs were twice the size of his then, funny thing, he had no response.

I'm kinda starting to like being the freak in a gym full of yuppies..

shit!

i use the most weight in my gym (hey some machines only go up to about 200!!!, so its not like im a powerlifter)

the looks i get make me laugh!! dudes say "damn i wanna have shoulders like that too, or how long did it take you to look like that?" then rather than workout those same clowns watch the basketballers downstairs half the time (my gyms upstairs and overlooks the b ball court)

My gym is full of guys dead lifting and squatting. I haven't been training for a mega amount of time but see that these are the way forward. I never used to squat, only do leg press until 4 weeks ago. Now i squat and dead my lifts on everything are going up enourmously. I hit 310lbs on deads for 3 reps yesterday and im feeling it today. I can't wait to get to the level of some of you guys.

I know what you mean by people who don't even go parallel. Sometimes I want to say something but who knows what kind of response you're gonna get?

The other day I'm doing SLDLs and some snotty little b-baller comes in and starts doing calf raises on the leg press with like 2 plates and 2 25s on there. He's basically cheating and using his knees. So he starts getting tired and starts using his knees even more but he's doing it really fast, to the point that the plates are rattling like crazy and causing a huge racket. He's doing like a 50-rep set. I look at the only other guy in our half of the gym like "WTF?!" but he only gives me a blank stare. Of course he's the same guy who is squatting 185 about 1/4 of the way and grunting with it so what could I expect?

Then the baller goes over to the squat rack and starts doing 135 1/4 of the way for reps and grunting his ass off.

Do you ever say anything to these morons?

JC

Needsize, good progress bro, Me and you are about the same height about 5'7-8 right? Yeah I starting to fill out my shoulders and back real nice since I started my old school training regiment. Pretty much i want to join the thousand pound club, but not for maxes but for weight i actually work out with. If I do squats with 365lbs then i hit it, but I don't like doing squats for less than 8 reps,I know i'm a little eccentric...

Getdownonit= good shit, keep on lifting...

Generally I don't bother as when I get the rude responses I want to hurt someone, so it's just not worth the effort. The only time I will say anything is if they're pretty young, they are a little more receptive about advice from "that big guy".

beastboy, are you talking about my training, if so, here's the gist:
day 1 chest/calves/abs
day 2 shoulders/back
day 3 resy
day 4 rest
day 5 bi's/tri's/forarms
day 6 quads/hams/abs
day 7 rest
Most of my workouts for any bodypart start with a heavy compound movement for 3-5 sets of 5 reps, followed by 2 other exercises for 2 sets each, 8-10 reps.
Here's an example for chest
flat bench 5x5
incline dumbell press 2 sets 8-10 reps
incline dumbell flyes 2 sets 8-10 reps

I'd figure i would describe the gym i lift at. Imagine all scrawny kids with frosted hair and wife beaters.

I first thought this was going to be a thread about you scaring neighborhood children, but this is just as funny...

:lmao:

Congrats on your fine deadlifting ability!
