Sassy69 - While in GA...

The Google dude replied & said he's floating my resume around his other recruiter buddies :)

In other news, after I stopped to pick up the Anatomy Coloring Book as I want to understand more about what is going on w/ my various body parts, and then a stop for some oatmeal, my battery died.

AAA + cell phone > boyfriend.

4 hrs later the car is towed to my BMW guy and I got a ride home. Gotta figure out how to get the car back tomorrow....

So needless to say no gym tonite...

I'm sorry you had a rough week! Hopefull you can resolve a bunch of the wrong stuff from the week. Hope you got your car back too!

I used those Anatomy Coloring Books to teach my kids last year at the high school. They loved it -- there's so many versions now.

First experience w/ physical therapy today -- I wasn't real impressed and I didn't think it was worht $100. Flapped around w/ those little resistance bands for 8 min. That's about it. Then she said I shoudl come back at least 2x/week. I almost laughed my ass off in her face. Don't think so. I also don't think I will be using this particular PT for my knee work either.

OMG, I'd be MAD! That sucks that she has no idea what you're capable of in the first place! Does she ever work with athletes?

Really no idea. Its not a major sports injury - just tendonitis - I asked what exactly I can do -- but seriously just this sort of - ok u just keep showing up & we'll wing it.

I am just out of chronic tendonitis in ankle area...(Do not know the name of tendons's...Treillin is another story) :lmao:...Anyhow Dr. did laser it and then ultrasound...
The explanation was (i thought/think it is logical)
With laser tendon is torn and then it must repair itself...kind of like the way muscle tears and then repairs itself with weights....so the sacr is what makes it "heal" and resistant again...the ultrasound sends vivrations....hum...now I am stuck...No me acuerdo...:lmao: I do not remember what the ultrasound does...bot it is something like vibrations/ bloodstream/ waste...

Hey chica - the orthopaedic guy already x-rayed it & determined no tears or anything - just tendonitis - recommended 1-2 trips to PT just to find out how to train w/ it. As far as I'm concerned, that's what I did today. I don't see me going in 2x/week for until they decide they've milked my insurance for enough.

And what is it w/ the fat chicks being the PT?

Hey! I hit the gym last nite! Diet's been very tight, just keeping it very minimal with regard to the limited physical activity I've had this week between my dead battery and waiting for some sort of viable plan for future training around joints.

Generally skipping all overhead stuff as well as anythign that requires a lat-pulldown type grip.

So I did chest + tris w/ shoulder warmup and just sorta watching for pain:
5 min elliptical warm up
Shoulder warm up (this includes my PT):
- cable raises (like front DB raises): 5/10 x 3
- cable later raises: 5/10 x 3
- cable in / out : 5/15 x 4
Super:
- incline DB press: 25/12 x 3
- chest-level cable pec-deck - 15/10 10/12x2
Super:
- HS seated press: 35/12 x 3
- low to up cable pec deck - 7/10 x 3
Super:
- skull crushers: 40/12 x 3
- close grip flatbench press: 40/12 x 3
Super:
- cable tri rope presses: 30/12 x 3
- DB kickbacks: supinated / pronated grip alt: 12/15 x 3

Cardio: 20 min recumbant bike


Now get this part... after all that guess what was throbbing? My friggen knees. Dammit. Havent' gotten any PT on those yet cuz I'm still waiting on the MRI reschedule so I figured recumbant bike at an easy level would be pretty inert. Wrong.

Well -- aside from sitting alot over the next 4 days, I have my little pilates bands and my pilates tape for exercise. Just watch the diet. But I'm saving a few nites for drinking dammit.

Not sure if you have ever explored ART (Active release therapy) but many elite athletes have raved about it. I resisted for a while & then decided to give it a try on my shoulder. I tried numerous traditional PT routes with no luck so I had nothing to lose. I was very impressed. Only issue was finding a practioner who accepted my insurance but it was $$ well spent. Its a lot of soft tissue work so it could replace some of those massages-

Thx - I have had ART work done in the past on my IT band / lower back. I think in this case I need to just start slow & build up the strength. I'll see how that goes.
 
OK So I"m sitting here in the LAX airport w/ 4 hrs before my plane takes off. ALready had 1 margarita... Not sure if another one is on the horizon...


Talked to my boss - apparently they did a small reorg at work while I'm gone - I work in Operations now - for anyone in technology - usually product mgmt is under either marketing or product development - has NOTHING to do w/ Ops. Even the damn CFO is like WTF IS GOING ON??? Sooo, waiting patiently to find out what's up....

No PB. He doesn't snack. Just sedentary. I shoudl've gotten him a kitten years ago.

What's hilarious w/ cc is because he's black - I used to have a lot of black & white furniture - you'd never even know he was there unless he looked up at you.

What does that cat eat all day that makes him so big?! When I was a kid, I ate cat food once by accident. It's not good.

Story:
Young T-Cake goes with Aunt to Aunt's friend's house.

Aunt's friend gives little T-Cake and Cake's baby bro a pellet of food; little T-Cake has no idea what it is, hears the word "snack" and eats it.

5 min. later, Aunt's friend says, "T-Cake, where's that pellet I gave you?"

"I ate it?"

Ouch. LOL I'm not really sure why he's fat - part is he's neutered, part is he's an indoor kitty and I"m not home that much - that means he sleeps alot. And he's almost 15 so I guess he's gonna sleep even more. But now he's completely bored out of his mind (as am I). It would be awesome if I got him a kitty but I have no idea if he'd start peeing in the house w/ another cat and I can't be here to watch the new kitty. And when my house is on the market I simply can't chance a cat peeing.

I feel really bad about it but o well. CC certainly doesn't suffer..... :kitty:
 
OH he has lots of toys w/ catnip. He gets bored when I don't throw them for him tho. HE's very high-maintenance. Catnip by itself is great - I give him some dried flakes of it on the entry way door mat & he rolls it in, eats it, licks it, gets high on it and then sits in the corner & stares for 30 min :)

Well -- today - finally got the MRI done. Interesting experience -- 20 min nap. Now I have to get back w/ my ortho guy and get a diagnosis. I'm going to track down this LMT who is also a sports PT that I think I'd like to work with. Its such a slow process but need to get to next stpes. I'm dying to check out this kickboxing gym by my work but I need the clearance on my joint stuff.

Yay! 1 step closer....
 
Yay - tomorrow morning I bring my MRI scans to the orthopaedic guy & get a determination... Also got some recommendations for a sports-oriented phys therapist. I'm dying to just get this overwith - I've stayed out of the gym a few days and my knee's been pretty good. But I can also feel the fat creeping up....

I'll get a plan laid out here pretty soon.

BTW I found it hilarious that the Global Warming summit in Wash DC had to be cancelled due to an ice storm. And its 34 degrees here. Deep South... my ass. I'm moving back to Florida.

Something like that - wish I was in better shape but eh, at least I'm almost to where I can get something started. Its too cold to wear skimpy stuff there anyway. I'm there to hang wid ma girlies!
 
Well hot damn. Saw the ortho doc this morning - no tears, no nothing. Basically my kneecap tends to float over the outer side of the joint when I bend. It just does that on some people. So the pain is essentially just wear & tear and it happened to have been aggravated by the heavy lifting, etc. I will also qualify that w/ the knowledge that I was doing regular (i.e. daily ) lunges and then was doing a lot of deep squat stuff = OW.

So diagnosis - nutting to fix. There's really no specific thing you can do to improve it - just avoid the things that aggravate it. I.e lunges, deep squats (even squats to parallel), leg curl, etc. And same w/ shoulder stuff. So good news is no surgery, not even physical therapy needed.

Now I can get onto a goal & a program. YAY!

LMAO about the global summit meeting. Glad to hear there is no surgury!!!! Will a knee brace help. My sisters knee caps come off and she wears knee braces while exercising and it seems to help.
 
So today, now that I know nothing is F'd up, its like getting a new lease on life. I've been walking around feelign like an invalid because there's a chance anythign I do will F up the potential problems more. So, verified no problems. YAY!

OK so here's my thoughts now ... certain very hot & muscle bound friend of mine (one Quadsweep...) will be competing at the Jr USAs in Charlston at the end of April. Its a 5 hr drive from ATL and I will have some vacation. That's 10 weeks away roughly - so my goal is to prep as if I were doing a figure show that day and just see where I end up. I think I'll get pix, maybe bodyfat and (HOPEFULLY....GIRLS... .... !!!) some help posing (I'll bring the hooker shoes) at the Arnold. Run that plan, see where I am, maybe if I'm ready, consider doing the Eastern Seaboard show here in ATL a couple weeks later in mid May (figure). So... that's mah plan.

Will start posting up a diet w/ the numbers, but tonite .. as it's midnite & I'm exploring the concept of 2x/day cardio again, startign at 20 min per -- whichi means I need to wake up earlier than like 8:15 am if I'm going to do it tomorrow.....

Thurs 2/15/07:

Meal 1: 8:30 am
oatmeal pancakes = 1/2 c oatmeal + 1 scoop protein mix + 1 splenda packet + 1 whole egg + 1 egg white

10 min stretching -- really awesone - no IT band soreness


AND ... A deep tissue massage tomorrow!

Well the first part is just the "walking" part.... worry about how it is supposed to look next -- need to get the part about not falling down stable first :)
 
2/18/07 - Sun

DIet - it was an eh fuck it day --- just woke up so late and didnt' eat much.
Meal 1: 11 am - oatmeal pancakes
Meal 2: 3 pm - 1/2 a small Detour bar prior to my massage
Meal 3: 4:15 pm - other 1/2 on the drive home
MEal 4: 4:45 pm - 4 oz turkey pattie
Mela 5: 8 pm - 4 oz chicken + 1 peach

Weird ass day -- I've been waking up w/ the worst sinus problems due to the cold weather - sinus headache & dry bloody nose from the cold & dry air. What a bitch.

Training:
25 min cardio: precor
Checking some other stuff for back - I was wondering about my upper back because I've been doing all my rows relatively low (i.e. below the boobages because they are too big & get in the way) -- wide grip rows & lat grips hurt my shoulder so not a real option --- so I tried seated cable rows w/ the rope grip & pulled high. These were awesome on upper middle back. Tried same grip to right at boobage / chest level but that angle started to poke at my shoulder --- felt it in my back tho.

Then did some hyperextension setting the pad at pelvis level and focus on lower back w/ a good flex at the top -- also felt good.

Then abs:
- fit ball - low abs: 30 x 3
- fit ball - high abs: 20 x 3

-- I can feel those top 2 abs - -goddammit I'm gonna see if I can pull out an 8-pack this spring.

THen -- off to my favorite sadistic massage therapist who beats on me. The best part of the massage was that she was working on sore muscles NOT sore joints. No pushing in the scapulas or telling my ankles are out of whack or anythign like that - - just plain old hard worked sore muscles from back day yesterday. First time in MONTHS! The ol' IT band is still tight, but also not nearly as bad as it used to be. (Haven't worked it in months...)

So all in all, it was really a great day as far as 'recovery' achieved.

Now I'm just kinda pissed about some shit I'm doing for work. In fact, pissed enough to have to break out the reggae music. This is about the only thing on the planet that truly relaxes me. Only problem is that I really really really need to be cruising down A1A past Miami & down to the Keys in a convertable right about now. Fuck this cold weather. Fuck work & all the idiots there. Just have a rum & coke waiting at the south end of Key West so I can watch the sun set.

And a muscle bound stud ready to show me 'dessert' when the sun has set .... :qt:
