DId the thought ever occur to you that perhaps Little John realized that a "man" like Robin Hood wasn't someone he wanted to call "friend" after he treated Maid Marion the way he did?

Did it ever occur to you that the holy man was ready to accept whatever he could, including comprimising whores?

Marion was used. Period. Robin faced death without her and she folded. He did not have to rely on her.

She compromised her morality then her faith.

You may look it over again and find the fault in the process and not the "sorry, pathetic" men.

Marion was not used. SHE OFFERED herself becsause she wanted to save the man she loved. It wasnt until AFTER Robin Hood rejected her for this selfless act that one *might* think this. But that is not the case. At least she found out what kind of man he REALLY was. He would have most likely left her hanging the same way if she ever needed him.

I dont know about you but if it was me in prison and my husband having to sleep with the evil queen in order to secure my freedom that WE could live together, do you think I would give a fat rat's ass if he fucked her? Would I be happy about the fact that my husband would be put in that position? NO! But the situation was, what it was. Would I be happier if he chose to remain chaste meaning that I would be doomed to live a life in a dungeon without him anyway?

I WOULD CURSE HIM TILL THE DAY HE DIED.

And my husband came to the identical conclusion. Which, as I said, is good FOR US.

I love you for your supposed moral covictions BM. There was no offer on her part, she had to concede. Either way I would rather die than have to live with the fact my woman slept with my mortal enemy to obtain my freedom.
The fact she went with his best friend belays your point as well, but I understand where you are coming from.
The question is problematic at best.
If she truely wanted to sacrifice for him she would have organized a rebellion to free him or died in the process. She chose differently. A means which was easy and sacrificed her morality. You defend her for it. Hmm.

John, is not morally compromised whatsoever, he is as clean as they come. Then the Maid. She compromised. She sacrificed her body for the sake of her love. Sacrifice is a great virtue.

Sherrif: Not so moral of him at all to dictate such conditions to the maid. BUT not as immoral Robin. This is why he is less immoral, but not any more moral than robin.

Robin: He is ignorant, inconsiderate, and lacks all compassion besides the fact that he is immoral.

You know, I TOTALLY glossed over this fact... however, after discussing this with my husband we are both in agreement that though Little John did NOTHING WRONG - Marion was just a bit above him as she was put into a difficult situation and she showed her true colors. She gave of herself willingly to save another and was honest about it, even though what she did WAS immoral. That is why we put Maid Marion ahead of Litte John.
