redbull question

I also play bball for 3 hours, I either take a caffeine pill and tons of gatorade, or mt dew and gatorade. I also try to eat a lot of carbs before I play. I don't avoid sugar, cause it seems to be helpful, I mentioned no sugar, cause you asked about diet red bull, if you want b complex try vitamin shoppe's online site. Red Bull works fine, but its expensive, you can duplicate it for cheap, you can even improve on it with a little tinkering. I looked online some of the b12 had like 16,000 %. I'm not sure how much the body can use at a time, but red bull had only 100 %.

placebo effect or not but after todays practice when everyone was fuckin around in the weight room for our 30 min weightroom routine I was still going like an that duracell bunny...

of course it wasnt just the red bull.. I had 2 oatmeal bars and a banana but for some reason red bull did a good job comapred to when I didnt drink it yesteryda

I'm not an expert on vitamins, so I'm not sure which brand is best, but make sure you get a b complex, and not just a b12. Also if oatmeal and bananas worked for you, keep eating it. You can take the vitamins, substitute the red bull with a caffeine pill. I suggest you drink gatorade and lots of water so you don't dehydrate from the caffeine and all the sprints.

stop recommending mtn dew. its sweetened with H.F.C.S.
ingredients in a mtn dew.
Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and/or sugar, concentrated orange juice and other natural flavors, citric acid, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), caffeine, sodium citrate, gum arabic, yellow 5, erythorbic acid (preserves freshness), calcium disodium EDTA (to protect flavor) and brominated vegetable oil.

instead just make an eca w/ 200 mg caffeine, 25mg ephedrine hcl, ~2-300 mg aspirin ... you will perform like an animal. ALso take in some prot./dex a bit before. You will definitely notice a difference... a large one...

I didn't say mt dew was healthy, it does help me play for 3 hours, it can be substituted with caffeine pills and dextrose. I don't want to preach to people, but ephedrine should be a last resort for energy IMO. Also protein won't help you before a basketball game, trust me I've tried many combos to get the most endurance possible. You want to eat high carbs earlier that day, you will need them, runners don't eat high protein, they carb up, bball is tons of running. Bodybuilders need high protein, just because "we" use tons of protein, doesn't mean you use extra protein for every situation. This is what I do the day of a basketball game, high carbs all day long, like cereal or oatmeal, brown rice, etc. I will take a protein shake when I first wake up, but not right before it will dehydrate you. That's why I drink extra strong gatorade, you can buy the powder in bulk, and mix it with less water. Take one caffeine pill 200mg, you can add b complex if you want to. Don't take creatine, I tried it once, because it helps me lift weights, but playing bball I was sluggish and I got tons of cramps. The reason I said mt dew, cause its the same crap as red bull, only cheaper, I tried both of them and they both gave me the same amount of energy. Your right that mt dew is bad, but its easy to just throw a few cans in my bag and go.

Red Bull has lots of caffeine and sugar, the vitamins and herbs is a bunch of BS marketing. If you want the same buzz less money, drink a few cans of mountain dew and take a vitamin, vitamins contain the same amount of B vitamins as Red Bull. Also B6 and B12 don't give you energy, they help release energy from the food you eat. Anyway I know coffee has tons of caffeine, but for some reason it doesn't give me a buzz at all. But when I drink 2 or 3 cans of mountain dew it gives me crazy energy, perhaps its the combo of sugar and caffeine together. Red Bull costs 2 to 3 bucks a can, mt dew is 25 cents, I guess I'm kinda cheap, I rather spend my money on more protein, than pay for Red Bull's marketing.

And Where do you get Mountain Dew for .25 a can???
