Recommend Me Some Tunes

CKY is okay. I like their first one more than their second one. Seven Mary Three reminds me of my childhood, haha.

Stone Temple Pilots (anything by them...) - Not anything. Core and Purple are good. Everything else was just so meh.
Metallica (anything pre 'Load') - First four are classics. Rest, eh, not so much.
Disturbed - That Believe song was kind of okay, that's about it.
Joe Satriani - Good in moderation. I'd rather watch him live than actually listen to him.
Queens of the Stone Age - Consistently good.
Scorpions - Guilty pleasure maybe.
first two Pearl Jam cd's - Ahhh, come on. Their third is the best thing they ever put out. Everything after that is pretty blah though.
Linkin Park - Paper Cut is the only song I can tolerate and even that tends to grate on the nerves after a while.
M. Manson - His best song is a cover of I Put a Spell on You. No likey the rest of his disco.
Tea Party - Holy Canada Batman, haha. Does anyone besides me even know of these dudes in the States?
Velvet Revolver - Haven't checked out yet. Too much hype. Too much G n' R. Too much radio rock.
Janes Addiction - Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual are great. The comeback album should've stayed in the vaults.

Keep 'em coming.

Which Heaven Shall Burn album do you like best? I really like Antigone, but I haven't checked out any of the older ones.

As far as Haste the Day, they are definitely Zao-like, but for whatever reason, even though I don't like Zao, I can get into Haste the Day. Unfortunately, their songs are typically a little too short, and the lyrics aren't very awe-inspiring, actually even a little trite at times, but they're better than alot of the metalcore out there.

I haaaaaaate Haste the Day's screaming. Their clean vocals are good. They should stick with that. Most bands need to realize that they don't need to scream to be heavy.

If you want to explore HSB's disco, start with Whatever it May Take and work backwards.

True, they don't need to scream to be heavy, but I don't mind the screaming vocals.

I can only get into one Wumpscut song and that is War. The Berzerker is good, new shit should be dropping soon if I remember right. That's one of Bloodbath's best songs.

No heard Scholomance, will check out.

I heard Shaitan Mazar a ways back but I don't remember where. I think they were supposed to send me some shit to review.

Heh, I think you're right. I think I told them to send you stuff.

I have a pirate radio station...and I do a SKA show on local radio. Here's what I would recommend:

Slackers (best album is "better late than never")

Tom Waits

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

Beastie Boys (anything)

Johnny Cash

NOFX/Rancid (punk)

Transplants

Joe Satriani

Queens of the Stone Age

If you like RAP:

Tupac

Outkast

DRE (2001 is good)

Eminem (Eminem show or Marshal Mathers LP)

If you like Dance:

Captain Jack

Paul Oakenfeld

Top Bottom
