Recommend Me Some Tunes

How about some polka?

I second the Callenish Circle recomendation. Damn good band.

System Shock (melo-death)
Chain Collector (sorta melo-death w/o the growls)
Kamelot (power)
Kalmah (melo-death)
Forefather (pagan)
Stronghold (the Pittsburgh power/progressive band - you may not be able to find any of their stuff though)
Beyond the Embrace (melo-death/metalcore....my favorite band)
Haste the Day (metalcore)
Heaven Shall Burn (german metalcore)
Divercia (I guess they'd be considered gothic, but good nonetheless)

Can't think of anything else right now.

BTW, good call on Pyramaze. I'm digging the couple tracks I heard by them.

anything from the Cro-Mags, if you can find any.
I brought out Age of Quarrel and Best Wishes the other day. I love that band.

Kalmah is great, better than COB. I remember that you linked a Forefather mp3 awhile back, good shit. Heaven Shall Burn was okay, their new CD is not so good. I like older Divercia more than the new one. Haste the Day is just...I don't know. Too much Zao lust for me.

alphaIII, spinx06, majutsu, I'll check that shit out sometime this weekend.

Thanks everyone.

Which Heaven Shall Burn album do you like best? I really like Antigone, but I haven't checked out any of the older ones.

As far as Haste the Day, they are definitely Zao-like, but for whatever reason, even though I don't like Zao, I can get into Haste the Day. Unfortunately, their songs are typically a little too short, and the lyrics aren't very awe-inspiring, actually even a little trite at times, but they're better than alot of the metalcore out there.

Burn the Witch-Queens of the Stoneage

Locomotive-Guns n Roses

Only in Dreams-Weezer

As far as I'm concerned, Weezer doesn't exist after Pinkerton. Blue/Pinkerton so good, rest so...so...not good. Great song choice.

No likey most Guns n Roses. I have what I need from them. Axl needs AIDS. Chinese Democracy will never be released. I'm kind of thinking that that is actually the concept behind the album.

I love me some Queens. Oddly enough, Burning Witch is a really good band.

Stone Temple Pilots (anything by them...)
Metallica (anything pre 'Load')
Disturbed
Joe Satriani
Queens of the Stone Age
Scorpions
first two Pearl Jam cd's
Linkin Park
M. Manson
Tea Party
Velvet Revolver
Janes Addiction

I actually like a lot of the 80's stuff too sometimes, but the above is my preferred if I need to get motivated for anything...

I'm listening to CKY right now. Quiet Bitter Beings and Disengage the Simulator are my favorites.

Seven Mary 3's album with Cumbersome, Roderigo, etc was pretty good.
