Rapist Spared Jail For Having Sex With 10 Year-Old Girl - Judge Says She Looked Older

SublimeZM said:
the one thing u gota realize is the girl is still 10 years old...these laws are in place for a reason and as a 10 year old she isnt old enough to be doin that shit...hes partially at fault even tho he got completely fucked over

I find it very hard to believe that any sane man of 20 would mistake a CHILD of 10 for a young woman of 16, but stranger things have happened. :worried: I have to say, I feel sorry for the dude. Apparently the judge was convinced enough that the dude has reason to believe that she might have been as old as she portrayed herself to be... but then again, you know my feelings about judges.

Sad situation all the way around.

rofl!

how the fuck does a parent let a 10 year old go like that? she probably wasnt a virgin either....fuggin weird world.

The girl was in care, so I'm assuming she either doesn't have parents or has been taken away from them for some reason. It didn't elaborate in the newspaper articles here, but it did say that she lived in full time care with the local authority.

I was talking about this with my boyfriend earlier. It is a pretty monumental decision that has been taken with this case, as I have heard of this case going the other way many a time before, and haven't heard of one like this. He hasn't got off completely though, the fact that he has been put on the sex offender's register despite being 'cleared' of committing an offence as such means that he will be limited as to future employment he'll be able to gain. He'll never be able to have a job with or around children, and any job that requires a Criminal Records check to be carried out will show up this information.

Nobody in the general public has seen pictures of this girl, obviously, but the judge did and he deemed her to look this old, and from the description of her behaviour she wasn't acting like your regular ten year old. While it does seem hard to believe at first that somebody as young as ten could look 16, I can believe it.

I had a bigger chest than half the twenty year olds I know at 10/11, and whilst I didn't necessarily dress old enough, I could easily have passed for much older if I'd wanted to. Back when I was that young, kids did dress young (or I should say their age more like) but nowadays it's way more common to see young children just wearing mini versions of adult clothes. You see kids of 6 and 7 wandering around with low slung jogging bottoms on, with slogans across their behinds saying all sorts ('Angel', 'Trouble' and 'Naughty' to say a few that I've seen recently!) and so I can see how a physically developed young girl could pass for much much older.

If the judge has ruled that what has happened is an honest mistake as such, and has given a much much lighter sentence in light of this fact, should he still have the same lifetime mark put against him that others who knowingly committed this act would have. Admittedly his criminal records check would have the sentence given against the conviction, so I guess it could be explained by him, but still it will affect any future employment he might have wanted to have should it be around children.
