Question on Shoulder excersizes

mrt

New member
OK, when you do lateral front and side raises for the shoulders, it's always said that you should raise the weight up to your head or parallel to the floor. What's wrong if you raise it all the way up above your head?
Is it bad for the shoulders? Wouldn't it be better since it is a more complete motion?

i don;t bother with front raises personally - pressing movements get them enough.

For side lats i go just slightly above parallel to the ground. Usually anymore than that and your traps take over.

Ever since I started doing saxons and noticed my shoulders got sore I do my front/side raises all the way up.

I think they are called full circles.
