i am thinking about changing to wsb but i just started a cutting diet for summer. i have been using 5x5 and this week for the first time i couldnt pull my 5x5 in deads. i also started sled dragging this week to. i may have over exerterted myself with all this new stuff. lack of food extra cardio/gpp work also been riding my bike. but the real question here is is wsb a good routine when you are in a calorie deficit or should is wait till winter to start it when i start eating like a pig again:D. i am also a full time mechanic and the shop has no ac so i am sweating all day and burning calories. thaks on any advice you all can give:) .

well i think you will definitely benefit from the speed work at least

do you ever find your work (mechanic) to interfere with your lifting, as in being too tired/overtraining?

I don't see any reason why you couldn't cut and do WSB at the same time.

I'm not really cutting, but I have scaled back my calories some, largely because I felt like I was gaining too much fat.

The important thing is to have enough fuel for your workouts. Maybe rotate your carbs...more on training days, less on non-training days.
