Question for peeps - guys and girls alike.

My father is a sexist.
He doesn't hate women or anything but he sort of looks down on them a bit and i think their thoughts and feelings are less important to him than mens.
He'd do anything to help or protect my mother or my sister (or me for that matter) but he has a hard time showing proper respect to women.
He's a wiseass to anyone but he's more likely to take advice from or listen to a man.
Maybe most men are like this. I dunno.
Anyway to answer your question i suppose it influences the way i see him.
Makes me question whether he's right or not.

Honest answer Mr Jan, but you do not get to choose your family.... you DO however, get to choose your friends, hence my question.
You know a guy that is a good friend to you. But then you realize over the course of time that he regularly treats women like shit. Or your friend is a girl (purely friends). Over the course of your friendship you discover that she treats men like shit. Would you still consider them to be a good friend or would your relationship with them be affected?

It would only affect my relationship to them in that it would make me question the way they view THEMSELVES.
I think people who are regularly dishonest to other people dont really like themselves either

Personally, I think my outlook would definitely change. I don't think I'd want to be around someone who's constantly 'dogging' someone else based on their gender (or race, sexuality, etc). As far as how my outlook would change... I guess I'd just spend less and less time with him/her or if it was someone who I had previously considered a good friend I'd try to talk to him/her about it and let them know how I feel.
