Just curious how you guys do these. I know to use a supinated grip on them but what day would you do it on, ME or DE? I was thinking of doing these when I create my next minicycle. I was going to do them after my ME exercise on the weeks that I use partial movements. ON my next cycle I am going to alternate ME exercises every week and the way I rotate them will be a parial movement one week, a full range movement next week. What do you guys think about doing timed DB presses after partial movement ME exercises?? I was going to go for about 2 minutes or so on them. Also, any explainations on how to do timed presses is appreciated. I am not sure what weight I could use or how long to hold at the bottom of the press or anything. Thanks in advance.

Timed db presses can be done on either day. Better yet...Both. Usually done at the end of the workout....or in a seperate recovery workout later in the day.

After you build your work capacity up you can do them 6 days a week. Day 1:100%, Day 2:60%, Day 3:30%...then repeat. The heaviest days would be on the bench days...and then reduce the weight and increase the time. 3-4 minutes on the second day...and 5 minutes on the third.

i think these are a waste of time.

halbert doesnt mention on these on his videos and tate just shook his head when i asked him about these.

do these on your 'stability ball' and you have a really, really worthless exercise.

just my $0.02

i can remember someone on this board talking about these a while back, they were using them for active recovery on 'off' days rather than as part of their routine. Idea was just to flood the muscle with blood to aid recovery.

tried them once, but it was soul sapping to crank out rep after monotonous rep with the little pink furry weights.

I've done them on separate days. I'll take light dumbells and rep until I get a pump. As soon as I feel it takes effort on a rep I stop and rest. I'll do this for 3 sets and feel it helps recovery.

I do them on my off days. I use 35 to 50 dumbells. I do them for 2 minutes. One minute i just rep them contiuelly. 2nd min i press and lower and hold for 5 seconds, press lower hold 5 seconds, i do that till the end of the 2nd minute. Thats about it. Nothing fancy just do them for recovery. Not every week just wheni am really sore.
