Que's Journey begins

Pap went ok (as far as I know), we discussed the lumpy-boob issue and I have an appointment with the biopsy surgeon On July 3rd.

I went to pick up the punkin  and the brat hadn't packed anything for the baby so I had to run to the store and get formula, bottles, etc etc as all the bottles that were in the cabinet seem to be missing.

The punkin and I had a great time together last nite, she ate her nanners, drank her milk and went to bed. Then the neighbors decided to let off fireworks around midnite and woke the baby up and she stayed up till around 2am. Grammy's a little sleepy and I didn't get to pack any food for today so I'm trying to avoid the snack machine.

I have to be in court tomorrow for the college expense thing. It's not looking good at this point.

Just got off the phone with the attorney and I have to go see him this afternoon but it appears that I have to learn how to shyt money. I should probably buy some green food coloring and more All-Bran. I've submitted the writen termination request to the gym so my last day at the gym July 31, 2006.
I'm not having a good day.

I'm sorry !!! You have one really thing that you seem happy about and that's where you should keep your focus... that grandbaby of yours'. Everything else will keep on... nothing you can do to change fate. Just remember to stop, smile, and be thankful for little gifts like that punkin of yours'

I'm so sorry, Que! I'm beside myself about that daughter & ex of yours!

Treil's right, stay focused on that precious little package and everything else will come together. What comes around goes around = karma as we all know = will come back to you, dear!

I head to the courthouse in just a few minutes.......I'm so nervous.
That was an excruciating 2 hours in court, I just feel worthless and I would like nothing better than to sit and have a good cry. :worried:

There was no ruling today as the judge needs time to review all the information presented but regardless of that I know that my daughter will associate how much I love her by the amount of $$ that I pay or don't pay. :worried:

They brought up the lump in my right breast as it pertains to potential medical bills and I had to explain that I will be having a biopsy, etc. etc..
I had been keeping that information from my daughter because she has enough to worry about and it upset her. :worried:

I'm emotionally exhausted and I still have to wait for the ruling.

Court is over and I'm just waiting on the verdict, Daughter left for college yesterday and tomorrow is the start of a brand new day. I have to remember that the amount of love a parent has for a child isn't determined by the balance in the checkbook, regardless of who says it is. Love is in the heart, not the bank.

"M" is planning a visit here in August so I need to kick some azz in the gym for the month of July. Which is the last month of my gym membership. So, if any of you are in the Columbus IN area and wanna help kick my azz.....lemme know.

Good luck at the doc's

Well after the discussion I had with the surgeon, everything that he explained and the manner in which he explained it, I have a much better understanding of what's going on in my boobs.

:jump: I do not need a biopsy. :jump:

My lump is a cyst and per the surgeon it is fluid filled and has not changed in size since last year. Apparently there are 2 small cysts next to each other and they were close enough to each other for the mammogram that it appeared as one.

I feel so much better.

Que,
Im so HAPPY that the dr.app went good. My sister went through the same thing and THANK GOD its nothing serious. I hope it stays on the good side for you. Good luck with the biopsy, my sis said she cried during b.c it hurt :(
Then again, she's a wussy and you are wayyyyy above that :)

QUESTION:

Why is HIIT better than a long cardio session?
IE:why is it better to do windsprints than to do 30-40 min on an elliptical machine with an elevated heart rate for an extended period of time?

whenever I do HIIT my hip goes bonkers and hurts like a mofo but when I do streadmill, stepmill, stationary bike or elliptical it doesn't bother me as bad.

If I extend the cardio time instead of doing HIIT can I get the same fat burning benefits?

Found a couple of articles:

http://davedraper.com/hiit-cardio-training.html

http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/justin6.htm

However - if it is causing you that much discomfort - I would do whatever cardio is most comfortable and easiest on your body, cuz it's not worth it if it's causing you pain......

One recent thing I've read is that while HIIT cardio burns more fat than steady-state cardio, it overall doesn't burn any more calories.....

Step 1 of basement cleanup: Pillows, blankets & bed linens
I have all the old pillows & ratty old blankets out for trash pickup and I'm in the process of washing what's left. When all that's clean I can sort it into 2 piles: donation & keep. I don't donate dirty stuff. :rainbow:

The first load of sheets are in the dryer and the blanket my mom gave me is in the washer. I'll never get rid of that blanket.

It still raining intermittingly but it was dry enough that I cleaned out the bed of the truck, hosed it down and also pulled the blown bulb out of the headlight on the car. Something else to fix. :worried:

Gym closed at noon and I'm in need of a bike ride. :jump:

Here's an odd question: Why is it called "books on tape" if they are actually on cd's?

Question fo ryou... Why not get the traditional oats instead of the packets??? Less additives/preservitives/sugar

Not a typo. I was hot when I went to bed so I turned up the a/c, took my shirt off & plopped down on top of the blankets. I slept like a rock and woke up absolutely frozen. I even grabbed the flashlite that I keep on the nightstand to double check the number. My normal waking temp is around 95'ish.

For no other reason except that the packets are convenient. No muss no fuss and completley portable. Some mornings I don't eat breakfast until I get to work & I can throw a pkt in the lunch box and out the door I go. I actually have the regular ones in the cabinet. :nerd:

Just an idea...but you could just measure out a daily serving of 1/2-3/4 cup dry oats and put them in a ziplock bag. They become portable then. Less additives/preservatives as Tre says and probably more economical too since you can re-use the same ziplock bags for oats.

I bought a large plastic container that I just sit on my counter with a 1/2-cup measuring cup in it and when I'm going out the night before & throw some oats into a small Tupperware (cheap ones I got at the Dollar store) and just stick it in my cooler for morning travel.....

Hey, Que! Dropping in to see how you are doing. Glad to read the dr. appt went better than anticipated. Positive vibes to you!

This may not sound too good but I measure my oats with protein powder the night before then when ready I add whatever liquid (either milk or water) to the shaker bottle, give it a good shakin' and drink it down. However, if you have access to micro (which I don't), it would be better cooked. Or you could measure out your oats into the little snak size ziploc baggies for the week. A little more effort but much better for you in the long run.

Ladies, the oatmeal advice is perfectly timed.

I had 1 packet left in the box and I ate it this morning. :lmao:

Looks like I'll be breaking out the regular oats tomorrow morning and I happen to have a crapload of the snack baggies too. ;)

Today was a wash for food as I didn't get to eat but once today and that was lunch.

"Someone* came home for the weekend w/o having any return plans made. The return train is sold out so one of the family friends volunteered to take her back to Chicago on Sunday because everyone else has to work.

We did talk a little and I hope that she understands that I do love her, I do want her to go to college, I do want to do my part financially but things just haven't happened the way I wanted them to nor have they happened in the time frame I wanted.

She, her dad & stepmom feel that I'm not doing enough in regard to getting a 2nd job. I don't want to work in a fast food place and they seem to think that I should take any job I can get. It's pretty sad to be told that you are overqualified for a weekend position in a doughnut factory. Overqualified my azz - bills are bills and they need to be paid and they don't really care where the money comes from.

1/2 scoop vanilla soy protein powder
24 oz coffee

I have to tell you that regular oatmeal is gross. Even w/splenda it tastes nasty.

1/2 c is too much oatmeal so tomorrow I'll be trying 1/4 c oatmeal and see how that works.
H AH AHA

Add some spices... cinnamon... pumpkin spice, sugar free vanilla flavored coffee syrup. Really it's not that bad! It's one of those things that over time like when you stop drinking pop and everything tastes bleh... because it's not what you are used too... Same thing here. Just have to stick with it, you'll get to where you enjoy it!!

steel cut oats have a different taste and consistency - might be worth a shot! :)

Did you mix the protein powder into the oatmeal?? If so, I agree that IS gross!!

Yes but I'm now out of vanilla protein powder so tomorrow I might throw some cinnamon in there of sumthin.

Yesterday I ate it w/o protein powder and only used splenda, it was tough chokin that stuff down even w/splenda.

......I have a whole container of these oats. :freak:

GG - :wavey:

WW - gonna have to eat what I have but I might try the steel cut oats at some point.

You may want to try your oats with vanilla soy milk - I notice you're drinking a lot of that these days. Also, cottage cheese or fruit like berries & diced apples can improve the overall taste. I  my oatmeal breakfast!

You getting excited yet? :)
I have a phobia of crowds.
I'm terrified to drive to Detroit and stay there on purpose.
I absolutely don't want to miss this chance to see Treilin in a comp & to meet all the other EF peeps.

Other than that, am I Excited - ABSOLUTELY! :jump:

Just hoping nothing goofs up between now and Friday.

I'm gonna try some spices and then maybe some SF maple syrup. I'm not much for berries in the am and cottage cheese is definately a no no that early. LOL

:wavey: Que-tie Pie!!

Try this: cook your oats in the 'wave with water (but not a lot so it's sorta thick). Use splenda & cinnamon or apple/pumpkin pie spice for seasoning.....I would put that in 1st......Then stir in 1-2 tblsp. of FF/SF whatever Vanilla Creamer or even a little skim milk.....

And if you can take them - 'waving the oats with dried cherries or cranberries is GOOD!!

I always microwave the oats cuz I'm too lazy to cook them on the stove. ;)

Holy moly, the whip is out now...

:velvett:

You leave the goofing up thing to me, I've got that well and truly covered.

If I can't go - you must be there in person for me, with my spirit in your heart, cheering on for Treilin.

If I do make it (and I am thinking of every possible way) - you must be there to receive a thousand hugs, share a few tears no doubt and smile so much your cheeks will ache by the end of it. Plus, sharing a room with me and P? Oh yeah baby!!!!!!!

Yup, either way, you just gotta go. No pressure or anything ;)

Fears? We all have them. But the best times are had when you take a deep breath, stay strong and overcome them.

I  you Q-Tip.

The neighbor machines and/or fabricates a lot of his own parts - - he fixed the lawnmower for me :jump:
sooooooooo I gave his wife an extra 10 speed that I had in the garage. It hasn't been ridden in over a year & is just taking up space. ;) she's a sweetheart and is going to let me know if it will work for her or not. If it works for her great! It will get ridden, I have more space in my garage AND the lawnmower is fixed. :jump:

Tomorrow is lawn mowing & edging night!! :elephant:
