pwo meal, do i need complex carbs?

im used to train in the evenings, sometimes i dont get home until 6 o clock.
ive noticed that im quite carb sensitive, so im keeping the carbs low but also will try not to eat carbs after 6.

but since the meals after workouts are the most important meal i dont exactly know how ill do this.

i always take a gainer after and have another meal whitin an hour.

if i would drop rice, pasta or other complex carbs and just eat a big meal of broccoli or other sallad to my chicken, would it be bad or would it be just as good?

Im in the same boat, home around the same time and atm im doing a mixture of both. Sometimes complex carbs and other times broccoli and other vegatables with steak or chicken. Would love to know thoughts on whether not consuming complex carbs before bed is hindering any gains as well.

A low grain, no sugar diet would be conducive to your long term health if you're definitely carbohydrate sensitive / hyper-insulinemic, as would arguably supplementing with chromium.

A small volume of carbohydrates post-workout won't hurt as your cells will be *more* insulin sensitive following exercise.

Hindering gains in what sense?

i know that carbs before bed lowers the realease of growth hormone when u sleep.
+ that ive notice that it takes a long time before i fall a sleap when ive eaten a carbmeal, and sometimes, depending on how big of a meal i get some sweats.

the thing i was wondering, to be more specific was:

if i would skip an oatmeal containing 60 g carbs, and instead eat a big bowl of broccoli containing 20-40 g of carbs, would it bi any difference?

i know it would be in glycogen storing, but would it be in pure muscle gain?

just drink a whey shake with moderate to low carbs post w/o. after that stick to the green veggies.

Right after a workout your body absorbs nutrients like a sponge...... that's the best time to really feed it well.

PWO I immediately drink a whey protein shake w/ some natural PB. Then I cook up some steamed mixed veggies, cook up a steak, and I usually put a baked potato in the oven before I head out to the gym.

Totally anabolic!!! :p

That doesn't seem very wise bro. I could be wrong, but wouldn't that slow down the digestion of the protein, and you want it as fast as possible after WO.
