Pushups

Any of you do pushups at home just for the hell of it. I had the urge to go lifting, but its 1:30AM and well i'm too lazy to get dressed and go, so i did pushups. :D

The gym is closed now anyway. They close early tonight.

I used to do'em at home, I'm just to lazy now.
Try one handed puchup, I usedt o do those when I was in hte military.

One time I got a wild hair up my ass and started investigating how some people can do a 1000 puchup straight.

Then as soon as it came to existance in my mind it faded away.

Basically they do push up all day long in sets, lie a set per hour and build up volume over time.

I wonder how that would tranfer over to some weight lifting exercises.

I donl;t think it helps your bench out too much becasue none of teh elite ever talk about puchups, except Kennely.

He does band pushup, clapping ones at that. I have a mini band I have to try that out but it's 1:45 am and the wifey would have a coniption fit.

I thought its 24/7 cept for saturdays. Oh well... lol

Never saw 1000 reps, but if you think about it, body weight different than the gym weight. Sure doing about 500reps a day total will get you to 1000 reps in one shot.

I don't think there's be much carryover.

I'm not a big fan of the SAID principle but it's right in this instance: tons of reps is endurance and won't do much for maximal strength.
