Is there any difference in doing pushups while onyour palms, or fists? Is it about being cool, or there is some realreason for that? Sorry for the noob question – I am new to allthis, but trying hard to learn as much as I can.

So to answer your question, the major difference is the amplitude of the motion – while standing on your fists you can get lower, hence increasing the amplitude of the exercise and its effectiveness.
