protein shakes

The reality is we need more information.
If you friend is a seasoned bber and he relies on whole foods he may be getting more then enough protein on "off" days.
Essentially, he should be taking in the same amount of protein and fats on both "on" and "off" days in order to help his muscle rebuild and repair.
Without seeing his diet it would be difficult to make an assessment!

dude, you asked a question that a newbie could answer..

Hold on, where's he getting his drugs free?

hey, not to steal a thread, but a question for you guys. i have tried every freakin brand of protein shake out there, and they all make me bloat real bad, not just bloat, but they
make my stomach stick out 3 or 4 more inches than normal, and then the extreme gas, even to the point that gasx does not help. i talked to my doctor, he recommended dairy ease pills and enzyme pills, still no luck, my body cant take it.

now, i am trying to eat like a horse (well a pony right now, working my way to a horse)
but what i am seeking is a fast absorbing protien right after a work out, but not in the form of a protein shake.

my thoughts were cottage cheese, or soymilk, egg whites, tofu, peanut butter, i assume due to their consistancy they will break down fast after a workout.

any advice?

find an easily digestible protein with low fat for pwo. the egg whites should be good but nothing is as fastly processed as a protein shake because its practically predigested when you drink it, doesnt need to be broken down like whole foods. have you looked for any protein shakes for lactose intolerant people? im not sure if they exist though so i could be heading you in the wrong direction. have you tried whey isolate like isopure?

I would guess one of two things.
You are lactose intollerant or you eat a lot of simple carbs.
BTW. ANPB actually slows the absorbsion of your shake!

maybe you should look for a better quality protein powder like WPI crossflow microfiltration. Costs more but you get what you pay for.
