protein over time

I understand that the body processes protein you eat within 3 hours, and this is the reason it is recomennded to eat every 3 hours. So it means there is only a certain amount of protein that you can eat in one meal that will be used, the rest will be wasted, I heard that this is about 40-50 grams. correct?
Anyway, this got me thinking, if I require 200 grams of protein a day (just as an example) then if I eat that split in 5 meals of 40 it should be ok, but some protein may go to waste. what if I ate my meals realy slow, and sipped on protein shales slowly throughout the day. then my body would have more fresh protein the whole time... my meals could be even smaller... makes sense right? so my main question here is, if I were to do this, would my overall need for protein be less if I were to eat this way, like if I needed 200 grams, in this case would I need 160 grams maybe or something like that?
I was just thinking about this right now while sipping on a glass of milk I have had here for the past 15 minutes...

No
this limit is a myth

It depends on so many factors that you can't just give a figure

to digest food, your body slips into the rest and digest (parasympathetic) mode, where it diverts energy and blood away from muscles and other non-essential organs to the stomach. if you are constantly supplying your body with food, then you will feel like crap, since your body will constantly supply your stomach and intestines with food and energy to digest what you just ate.

don't believe me? take a jog right after a big meal. you're likely to throw it up, or have a serious case of indigestion. that's because your body just shifted its energy/blood supply to your muscles, and away from your stomach. Result: indigestion.

So, yeah, I suppose if you had an office job where all you did was sit around in a cubicle all day, you could probably get away with eating all day, but I wouldn't try it if you have to move around :)

Couch guy is correct and pointed out things I didnt know. WHat I did know is that (like he said) a constant supply of protein is not the best method for anything.

Have your meals at once and Ive always aimed at 50, sometimes exceeding upto 60 (2 chicken breasts)

that's about where i put it at. try to get around 45-50g/meal * 5-6 meals amounts to ~250/day. you really don't need more than that unless you're juicing.
