protein/malto for meal replacement

i know malto is a high GI carb, but it is complex and seems to give me good energy....is this okay to take throughout the day as a meal replacement? it tastes good, cheap, and i just hate downing some of those other ones

As a meal replacement I would not recommend it... what are you doing, bulking? Problem is that it is absorbed too fast.

Besides, Malto has no flavor (it is like starch). What are you drinking?

i liked that it had no flavor....mixed well with 100 percent whey....im trying to lean out a bit, but stay pretty big....lose a lil around the gut specifically, so i guess a high GI carb wont help that....are their any powder carbs low in GI rating?

I guess "powdered" and low Gi don't go well together, since the process to make it a powder will most likely make it easier/faster to digest, hence spiking his GI value.

many thanks for the help my friend

I would rather use fruit or oatmeal as my carb source instead of malto. On the go an apple or two is easy to carry. When I am at work or home otameal/oatbran cereal is my carb source.
