protein intake?

I'll give my stats: 15 years old, 190lbs, 6'1. Okay, I know "eat at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight" I think that I generally get around that, somedays higher somedays lower. Is it really that recommended, could you see a big difference between someone who eats maybe 150 grams of protein to somebody who eats 250 grams both being 200lbs?

In my opinion you will notice a reasonable difference between 150 and 250 grams of protien per daily. The difference between 250 and 300 or even 350 is really quite small though (think law of dimishing returns).

If your goals are bodybuilding related, I would recommend shooting for 225-250 grams of protein per day. Preferably from whole food sources.

Between 1.2 and 1.8 x bodyweight as long as you are realatively lean. These numbers are for athletes. You would NOT want a guy that is 40% BF to be consuming 1.8x...

You are likely lactose intolerant, in which case you need whey protein isolate instead of the traditional concentrate.

You could also opt for whole food sources of protein too.

Ghede, good point.
