Protein for dinner

After drinking my pre and post workout shakes I have no room for dinner. I usually just sit here full as hell for hours and then go to bed.

I'm taking 350g protein a day from Isopure shakes. Its really horrible stuff. Is there a better way to do this so I can actually eat something for dinner?
 
Start taking a fiber supplement every night to help clear things out. All that protein can clog up the guts making you feel bloated and full all the time.

That is exactly what it is doing. I feel full all day long, even when i'm hungry I feel full. Very odd. Can you recommend a good fiber supp?
 
Psyllium husk - Metamucil is one of the brands but there is a lot of them out there. There are also some very high fibre cereals you can buy but they can be too much.

If you go with Psyllium husk make sure you drink a few glasses of water with it. Good thing about it is that it's natural and you can take it every day.

I've never taken fiber before. Is this going to give me the runs?

Wait, you're getting 350g of protein ONLY from Isopure shakes???

cut back on the shakes and eat more sloid proteins like chicken,,beef,,,fish..

haha, I was thinking the same thing. And in just two shakes too. Holy shit! I've gotta say, totally unnecessary. Your body is only absorbing a FRACTION of that. Maybe 50-75 grams if you are drinking all that at once. The rest is waste, and in this case waste that is making you bloated, full and not able to eat later when you need to. Cut that shake in half. Maybe in fourth.

Well, it does depend on the individual, and how much the body is calling for protein at that time. However, I'd say that within the window of an hour "most" people are going to max out between 50(average)-75(high) grams that is usable. Feel free to tell me if I am wrong. I do not think that I am.

I started drinking them with water, it helps quite a bit....you dont feel as bloated if you use milk.
 
get better quality protein...i got some weight gainer and iso from DYMANTIZE...no bloat feeling at all with either!

And i agree with the rest...eat more!

I had the same question...350g only from pre & post-workout shakes??

50-75g of protein per sitting is a stretch...it's more like 40-60 (at most), of course everyone's metabolism / needs differ.

I agree with the psyllium fiber... I use NOW's psyllium fiber... check out bodybuilding.com ... they have it in capsules or powder. Twice a day, and you're MOVING :)

Also, are you eating every 2-3 hours? That will ensure optimal metabolism, allowing you to eat as much as you're looking to eat.
 
I agree with those that say get most of your protein from real food.

IMO this is just as easy and convenient as drinking shakes.

I cook four chicken breasts at a time and eat those fuckers cold, with no utensils, while I'm driving my car if I have to. I boil a dozen eggs and take them everywhere. A 1L carton of milk is portable protein. The list goes on and on.

If you are bloated for hours after a shake, something is wrong. After a shake I'm starved in 10 mins, as if I didn't eat at all. Anything more than about 60g protein per serving gives me gas.
 
I have run into this problem in the past as well because I dont train until after work around 5pm.

what I did to accomidate is have my pre shake about 30-45 mins before work out so I'm not full on work out then take my post shake about 20 mins before I finnish my workout, basically start slowly drinking it while I'm lifting as if it were my water bottle.

Then when i am done I eat a late lunch like right before bed this not only helps with the time in fullness and digestion but it also help get you that extra bit of nutirtion right before your out for 8 hours and cant eat agian till you get up...keeps you fuled at night!

side note there is something the body a hormone known as CCG that usially kicks in with in 20 min of ingestion that will tell your body to stop being hurgry try to use the to your advantage!
 
That's good stuff man. 350g of protein from shakes....wow. Damn right you are full. Did it give you diarrhea? Since you are lowering the shakes I would start off with just 1 scoop of Metamucil per day. Don't over do it. 350-400g of protein from all sources would be a great day for you bro. Good luck. I can only imagine the relief that is forthcoming.

If he didn't get diarrhea, I can guarantee that he probably had some rancid-ass farts.
