i heard the sugar in milk is terrible for you....

can a dietician please clarify
Where do people come up with these crazy thoughts? Christ...the answer is it's up to you. If you can stay lean with dairy go for it...if you want to put on some mass and you can handle the lactose, dairy is a prime source....I'm pretty much convinced cottage cheese is the number #1 bb fuel......if you could only take in one food.........cc ranks with eggs.....ground beef.........i now get away with red meat, eggs, cc, peanuts, oatmeal and yams......greens on the side, but thats it...........lol........I forget what ANY other food even tastes like.....it's a sad sad game.........sorry for the tyraid, but slam you gd milk! :chomp: :chomp: :chomp: :chomp: :chomp: :chomp:

Thanks for all your replys.

So the conclusion is, if you want a quick absorption use water (like late at night time), otherwise use skim milk.

Make sense?

Amen to jkurzl! It's what you prefer and what you can stay lean with. I drink it both ways. I'm not so sure abou the absorbtion rate milk vs. water, but do what you prefer if you can stay lean.

I use chocolate milk for my protien shakes pre and post workout (30g protein) because I want the carbohydrates (sugar)... but before bedtime I have another protein shake just using skim milk powder and water.

I only use water with protein shakes, however I do drink ~4 cups of fat free carb countdown milk thoughout the day with my meals to boost protein.

you are confused............dairy contains lactose and casein, both of which are very slow digesting.........opt for water post workout and use it pre-bed.......
