Protein Dillema

I'm supposed to have 111g of protein a day. I'm eating tuna for two meals and two whey shakes a day. The whey is 23 grams and the tuna is 13 so 26+46=72 grams. I need a way so that i can reach my quota without going overboard. Also could i just eat the whey protein powder. Either way it tastes horrible and i figure that its just quicker to eat it.

You're much better off getting your protein from real foods - not only because of the complex matrix of nutrients offered by whole foods - but also because of it's slower digestion rate (e.g., steadier stream of AA's).

1 can of tuna has more like 30-40 grams of protien

1 scoop of whey has 23g

getting 111 grams of protein is what some people here do in 1 meal

take your pick of meats. Ground Turkey is really cheap and lean. Same with eggs and chicken breasts. Its really not that hard. You can always drink milk and put some whey in there if you don't feel like you are getting enough.

if you're eating 2 cans of tuna, you're getting more than 13g of protein per can. it's 13g per serving, and each can has ~2.5 servings.

it you want something cheap, add eggs. don't eat the protein powder. add some more whole foods. if you don't like eggs then add something else. there are a ton of options.

eggs
fish
Chicken
Turkey
Lean Beef
ANPB
Etc etc

Also you're probably getting some protein (ok it's not complete protein) from the carbs you're eating too

Is this a joke? 111grams, come on man I am eating at least 500g's of protein a day and over 1,000g carbs all from REAL FOOD no shakes. 111 is like a snack for me.

yeah 111 is easy to get, but you gotta remember, not everyone is used to the high protein style of eating. also, it's not a cheap eating style either. lean meats are costly.

i take in 300 or so a day, and it's not that difficult, although i use a few shakes here and there since cooking can be a pain in the ass at times.
