Ok, what I'm still not grasping is why I would want to have carbs in my blood stream from food, and not from stored energy sources when working out (talking about lifting weights not cardio here) if I'm dieting down...... If I consume 200cals of carbs pre workout, that would be 200cals of less stored energy (fat and/or carbs) I won't burn during my workout..... If I burn stored glycogen during lifting, I just replace it post workout with a glycemic/protein fortified shake..... So, it sounds to me that skipping the pre workout meal would be better for someone who is trying to diet down..... Am I wrong in some way? Am I over looking something? Still trying to figure this out.....
